Does anyone else say "Not important" a lot since seeing the Hans Jensen interview?
Okay, so for a day when I essentially did nothing I got a lot done. What I mean is, I saw Meet the Fockers (with Lea) and read ASOUE book 4: The Miserable Mill. Loved them both.
Meet the Fockers is probably the funniest movie I've seen all year bar Team America. I've seen a lot of comedy movies where too many funny actors end up getting big heads and ruining it, but Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, Robert DeNiro, Blythe Danner and Barbara Streisand were ALL perfect and played off each other brilliantly. Shame about the girl Ben Stiller was marrying, she has almost no personality. Dustin and Barbara are people I want to be friends with, they're just gorgeous in this.
Somewhere around the middle the movie takes an unsettling and disturbing turn, though, which makes the ending seem a bit weird. DeNiro injects Stiller with truth serum and it's just downright psychotic, rather than being funny. Still, the cat flushing the dog, Little Jack and Barbara's sex therapy were all terrific. When Owen Wilson showed up at the end the film kind of slipped back into Zoolander-style humour (the pan pipes), which is interesting. Ben and Owen have a chemistry that's not even close to rivalled by that blonde girl he's supposed to be marrying. But I digress. This film is HILARIOUS, I really suggest you see it. It manages to be funny in new ways to the first one rather than just rehashing it, focussing not only on DeNiro's slightly insane behaviour but also on the differences between his family and the Fockers (and all the Focker name jokes are funny - Orny and Randy Focker? Why didn't they just call their kids Desperate-for-a-shag Focker?) and the ultimate message of comprimise and acceptance is terrific.
I was expecting something really episodic but Lemony Snicket's books are so brilliant, he's actually advancing an overall plot, just very slowly. There are some interesting ideas of something bad happening within the circle of the three siblings when Klaus is hypnotised, and the new characters were cool. Loved the eye doctor thing. Can't wait to get my hands on the next one!
I got very, very little sleep last night (all of 3 1/2 hours, woohoo) from worrying and I can't do my next interest today because all my Goonies stuff is on Harmony and Clare's sleeping. Tomorrow night! Am currently downloading the new Lost ep. Has been going for ages and is only up to 31%. I don't know if I'll be sleeping tonight.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
syndarys!

As stated by Eweek.com on January 5th, 2005, Livejournal.com will be merging with SixApart.
And at the point, all users are unsure of what will be lost and gained through this merger. Will we lose icons? Communities? Making journals for free? What will happen to the rating communities, and the RP Journals that members create? Will we lose the PostByPhone service?
But, more importantly, will we just lose the little things? The silly April Fools Day jokes, or the News Updates? Will SixApart even care about it's users like those in charge now do?
Will we lose some of our livejournal friends?
This is not a protest, just a hope. A little faith. We want to keep what we signed up for -- what even some pay for -- the services, the communities, the icons -- everything. We're not sure if this merge will make Livejournal less of a community then it is, or if it will stay the same as it always has been for the past five years -- but nonetheless, we only want what we've had for the past five years:
