I'd like to address the "f" word today.
That's right, fangirl. Gasp, I hear you say! No! Fangirls are screechy and evil and must all be taken out back and shot!
Or maybe not quite that extreme, but I'm tired of people saying fangirl like it's a dirty word. Newsflash: even if you don't fall at a faint at the feet of your idol/sex god, or stalk him at conventions, you are probably still a fangirl. Because let's face it, if you're a fan and a girl, it stands to reason. There is nothing wrong with being a fan girl! I mean, sure there are extreme crazy fangirls with the screaming, but there are extreme everythings. Islamists, Christians, conservatives, gamers. There are probably extreme orthodontists who the other orthodontists think make them look bad! I couldn't have picked a shorter example? *sigh*
My point is, the only way to fix the bad image we get as fans is to treat each other and the people we are fans of with respect and admiration. Remember that they are people too, and that if somebody tattooed your name into their skin you'd probably be a little freaked out. Use your brains! Of course this problem is always going to exist, but there's no use in being ashamed of being a fangirl just because some of them suck.

Today was good, anyway, for the most part. I had work in the morning and I'd prefer not to talk about the afternoon, but I got to talk to Colin for a bit and the 'lage has been hopping. And I bumped into Sarah while grocery shopping.

teh_indy. But the links go at the end of the pictures. I always find it hard to get a good balance of icons - those I've made and those made by others, and balancing fandoms and things. Mostly I go with what I like, but I put a lot of thought into it!

Well, this is my default image. It has my name on it, and it's my favourite picture of my favourite boy, so it only makes sense! I did make it myself. It's not perfect, but I love it.
This is bybleedskint and I've actually had it longer than my default. This was my favourite Dom/Elijah moment until the Hans Jensen interview and this icon is SO sweet, and surprisingly good quality considering the quality of most caps of this moment. Beautiful and simple.
This is my pissed off icon. I don't get to use it much, but it's pretty perfect. I made it.
Oooh, one of my oldest icons. I loved this icon bysyndarys from the moment I saw it. It's simple and green and perfect.
I'm not very happy about the way this icon looks, but I like the idea of it. Yes, those are my feet and shoes and socks. My friends thought I was crazy when I sat down to take a photo of my feet after the Halloween party, but WHO'S LAUGHING NOW? hehehe.

Singin' in the Rain is one of my all-time favourite movies. I've loved it since I was 3. Funnily enough I never saw this scene until I saw Singin' in the Rain in my first year film class, because it wasn't in the Japanese televised version my parents taped when I was a kid.
This is my favourite scene from the movies and I went through a bunch of icons of it (even made a couple crap ones myself) until I found this one bybiginjapan which is perfect.

I've been through a few Queer as Folk icons but I love the friendship between Brian and Mikey and this icon is so clean and pretty. It's bymandymoosey.

Another sad icon (and again from Buffy/Angel!) Lorne is so cool. I know I have to liek him coz he's green but he was always so positive and upbeat, and it made sad moments like these more poignant. I saw this on an old challenge group bystumbelina.
Sam is my favourite Lord of the Rings character, and loyalty is very important to me. Sam absolutely personifies loyalty. He's so gorgeous and wonderful as is this icon byblue_leaves.
This is the sexy Gael Garcia Bernal and this is my "I don't wanna talk about it" icon. So lovely.
Squee! My only Eliza icon, she's SO BEAUTIFUL. I'm not very girly, so this indicates my girlier moods ;)
I made this and the lovelynatatree animated it. This scene in PoA made me cry. I love Sirius so damn much, and I definitely like this extended version of the goodbye scene. It establishes the relationship between Harry and Sirius and was very good at putting in important lines from the books. And so sad.
I crack myself up sometimes :D I saw this image of Giles in the hat and this was the first thing that came to mind. Because I am one! One of my all-time favourites.

shoebox_project icon #1, the first I made, because their Sirius and Remus are practically canon (and so gorgeous in their costumes.)
This has gone through a revamp to be brought to you in this form. I just made this icon as one of a bunch and found it so appealing I kept it. It's quite a good comment icon when you want to respectfully disagree ;)
shoebox_project icon #2. It was my default for a while, which is why it's green and has my name on it. This picture of Sirius is so guh I can actually pretend Peter's not in it. Naughty and pretty and perfect.
I made this as a base then hated any text I tried to put on it, because it's a beautiful picture by itself. Sean is lovely.

I have an unnatural and disturbing love for Fell Beasts. I have a figure of one (huge mother) called Horace, who sits on my chair by my computer. They're so beautiful and ugly and powerful and terrifying all at the same time, and so *huge*. When the Fell Beast comes up out of Minas Morgul I get shivers. Base byarwen_elvenfair.
Saw it and HAD to have it, because I love Emperor's New Groove and this is one of the best lines in it. Not so much in itself, but afterwards when Izma says "Anyone else?" and the guy who's now an octupus, among other animals, says "No, we're good." So funny! Bysans_espoir.
Sigh. I keep having to udpate this one because I keep getting new pictures - I want to add the one of Thomas Robins in my crown to this icon now! I love it though :D Thanks to everyone who's animated a version for me!

Squee! I have deleted this icon from my user icons twice but I keep coming back to it. It's not the best-made icon but I love the colours and gods it makes me smile. It's a beautiful pic of the boys. I love the way their hips grind, and Dom's hand is on Viggo's head....*drools*

lol I'm actually one an Orli fangirl. I go on and off him. I like him most during the days of shooting in New Zealand (so I have a disproportionate number of pictures from those days!) I'm a hobbit girl at heart :)
