Okay, now on to a real update.
Is it just me or is everybody getting hotter the longer they stay on the island? I spent practically the whole episode drooling. And everybody on the show seems to look really good while intensely staring down a gun.
Loved the Sayid/Sawyer interaction at the beginning. Chock full of very cute sexual tension. I loved the drinking game - I would PAY to see Sawyer in pink 80's gear, and was I the only one bitterly disappointed when he said he'd never kissed a man? The Sayid/Dom interaction was awesome too, and reconfirmed Sayid's position as my second favourite character on the show. A much smarter and more direct man than Jack. I love him.
On to the meat of the episode. None of it actually surprised me all that much, and I oddly don't like Sawyer any less for it since I figured that was more or less what he'd done. The show is about starting over, and Sawyer's got enough guilt to last him a lifetime anyway. The shocking connection stuff between Sawyer and Jack turned out to be crap, unfortunately. I was hoping for something juicier.
Meanwhile, Claire/Charlie is still painfully cute (and I watched their last bit three times just to watch Dom's body move.)
ETA: I saw the old 'classic' version of Little Women today. For probably the first time ever I liked the new version of a film better than the old one. The new one was Winona Ryder, Christian Bale, Samantha Mathis, Kirsten Dunst, Claire Danes, Susan Sarandon. The old one - June Alyson, Peter Lawford, Elizabeth Taylor, Janet Leigh. Even with that awesome cast the whole movie just felt unreal and stilted, while the newer version felt alive and real.
Yesterday I had work at the school in the afternoon, which left me totally exhausted and feeling much sicker, so today I rested up some. Watched Oprah and drove my sister to various things. Talked to Drew Goddard on the Fuselage. That's about it really.
Dude. I have dot dot dot on my friends list.

SIRIUS BLACK
Sirius is currently tied for first place as my favourite Harry Potter character, and the ironic thing is that this only occurred while I was reading Order of the Phoenix. I went into it liking Sirius and came out of it LOVING him and sobbing madly over his death. I think it was the complexity of his past and the unfairness of his situation that finally did it for me. Plus he's incredibly hot. But anyway, Sirius is easily my emotional favourite; he's passionate, strong-willed, stubborn and definitely unhinged and I love him for it. He's imperfect but he's loyal, loving and honest, which I admire. I think that he definitely could have used some slack in the fifth book which was denied him, but gods he loved Harry.
Ironically two of my favourite scenes in the books have my two favourite characters about to kill each other: the kitchen scene in Occlumency (OotP) and the Shrieking Shack scene. Both of them are so sure that the other is evil, yet they both have a lot of similarities in their pasts I think. The main difference is in that while Snape is cold and calculating (a true Slytherin) Sirius is passionate and unthinking (a true Gryffindor). Which is very, very cool. This is most clearly demonstrated in the kitchen part. The Sirius of
shoebox_project has admittedly greatly influenced my mental image of Sirius, as has Gary Oldman's love, layered performance; however I think they've both changed it for the better.
One last note: watching two of my favourite actors as two of my favourite characters in everything ever face off during the Shrieking Shack scene in PoA nearly put me in hysterics.

Hmm. So, The Identity Code, a kind of interactive LotRiPS adventure, is up online. I'm checking it out now. You should too.

I don't like Sawyer any less or more after last night either (feel a bit sorry for him though)... Oh well. I totally agree with you about the beginning Sayid/Sawyer thing though. I love Sayid. It's nice to see him getting back into things, it felt like we've went without him a little too lately for some reason. The shocking connection stuff between Sawyer and Jack turned out to be crap Oh yeah, totally... I inda wanted Sawyer to get into a bar fight with Jacks dad who had been drinking too much and that's why he was getting hauled in in 'Hearts and Minds'. Grrr.
And Charlie/Claire love! How cute was Dom in that last bit? Wish I knew what Charlie had said to Claire as they walked off though...

LOL I'm all "Sayid/Nadia! Sayid/Sawyer! Sayid/Shannon!" I think Sayid just has sexual chemistry with, like, everything.
That last bit, Dom was the *sex*.

And it is, of course, absolutely true.

Ah, Sayid's sexual chemistry. I like thinking about that (and about how the sexiness level of Dom just keeps climbing)...

and i must agree that sayid can have sexual chemistry with anything! And as for the whole Jack/Sawyer connection thing....I dont think we've seen the last of it. When Sawyer was getting arrested it was because of a bar fight (at least thats what he was screaming) so how do we know that Sawyer doesnt go back to the bar pissed at Jacks dad for urging him to do what would "ease his suffering"?? Of course I could be wrong, but we cant rule it out...

I guess that could be true but somehow I don't think it is.

Yea I mean it is unlikely but I'm not ruling it out completely because of the flashback we saw with boone and sawyer....but I guess we'll find out!!
