Pirates of the Caribbean: The Black Pearl is now officially the most fun movie I've ever watched in my life.

I absolutely loved it, every moment of it, and enjoyed it far more than is probably healthy. Everything Johnny did as Jack looked like innuendo--he flirted with *everything,* including the camera more times than I can count. Now THAT man knows how to make an entrance, and everything he did just made me want him. Orli was really just there for pretty scenery (and to slash with Jack--come on, sparks literally flew between them in that first very hot swordfight!), but Elizabeth was a fairly good heroine--not too wimpy. I like to call this movie Everybody Loves Captain Jack Sparrow, particularly by the end of it. Nobody can resist the sexiness that is the somewhat ambiguous yet incredibly charismatic captain!!! Geoffrey Rush also did a terrific job as Barbossa IMHO, he was very cool, though I sometimes couldn't understand what he was saying. Loved the monkey.

Today was, once again, fairly long, but it was also enormously fun. I went to my French classes and could barely keep my eyes open, and planned to head into town after discovering I didn't have a French assignment to do today (yay!) and spending some time in the library, but I bumped into Ben while having lunch and then Melissa later and got completely sidetracked, ended up spending 3 hours just talking to them! I sat through a Film Studies lecture and a Gender tute before *finally* heading off to see Pirates, through real peak-hour Canberra traffic (lmao). NewT drove me home to pick up the tickets first, because he's a complete sweetheart (who speeds too much.) Then we met up with T&N, Gwyn and Julia for the movie, which I loved, and afterwards T&N and Gwyn and I went to Maccas for a bit before heading home.

those quizzes from yesterday that I couldn't post yet )

Link of the day is a wonderful fic called Caliente, which I just love.

Pics of the Day...links to my website, plus a very amusing manipulation of Spike as a Mirkwood elf, and a couple of Pirates pictures (who can resist??)

THERE'S A LORD OF THE RINGS CONVETION RIGHT HERE IN CANBERRA NEXT WEEK!!!!

That's right, an actual convention in *Canberra* of all places, with Craig Parker and Sarah McLeod and John Noble. And Craig Parker, so I'm definitely, definitely going, even though it costs me far more money than I have ($190), and did I mention that CRAIG PARKER is going?? Of course, this will make me broke for a month or so since I'm also trying to save for Adelaide, but I reckon it's worth it to meet CRAIG PARKER!!!

Well, now that you all know that I'm going to a Lord of the Rings convention next week to meet Craig Parker, I can describe my terribly exciting day. I vaccuumed and then went in to university for the weekly get-together, which had an interesting array of people today--no Tom, but Sharon, Gwyn, Anna, Nina, Phoebe, Misha, Nutty, Alicia and Peter. I finally got to go to Goodberry's, because Nina got her P plates and was most excited, and decided to drive me and Alicia around for a bit in Alicia's car Jezebel. Goodberry's is a frozen custard place, and it's amazing, I loved it. I'm going out to Gwyn's tonight and seeing Pirates again tomorrow with Anton, which should be fun.

Rest in Peace John Ritter, age 54.

The Craft quiz--the movie is incredibly creepy )

Link of the Day is a George W. Bush resume that is at once both terrifying and hilarious. Check out the IQ's of the presidents. Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] alexmalfoy

Pic of the day is just the Orlando one I used for my link button
