I wanted to say something about the movie
Fever Pitch, which I watched 4 times on the way to and from Nagoya.
I'm not a romantic comedy girl, I don't know if you'd noticed. Generally I dislike romantic-anything movies (I am the only person I know who didn't care for
The Notebook all that much.) However, watching this movie was kind of like looking into the mirror and seeing Jimmy Fallon as a baseball fan looking back at me.
Fever Pitch is based on a book by the author of
About a Boy, and it stars Jimmy Fallon (who is so gorgeous, by the way, and I want one of my own) and Drew Barrymore (once again, beautiful in this.) They changed the game from football (the soccer kind) to baseball and the setting from Britain to America, but it still has that wonderfully understated British feel to it. I swear, it's basically a survival guide for anyone who wants to live with a fan - and it does it all really affectionately. It also makes an important distinction: fans are obsessive, but we still put the real people in our lives first. It's so charming and lovely. I really suggest everybody go see it if it gets released (I assume it isn't in wide release yet, but I don't know - I think the London premiere was only a few days ago.)
OMG! Loudon Wainwright III - Rufus and Martha's daddy - is going to be in Elizabethtown. Have I mentioned I love this film already? And I'm reading the script (the glorious
truffle_shuffle sent it to me) and it's fanTAStic.
Except for this: "it's" is an abbreviation of "it is", "its" means "belonging to it"; and
"Better THAN", not "better THEN." And that applies for any similar situation. "Funnier than," "happier than," "prettier than."
And I have to mention the song from the trailers, "My Father's Gun" by Elton John, again, because I really can't stop listening to it.
Song of the Day:
I Melt With You by Jason Mraz
I love this weird geek rock stuff, it's adorable.
Link of the Day: One of the authors of
shoebox_project, the ridiculously talented
dorkorific, wrote
a manifesto in response to one moment of their fanon being sunk by an interview with JKR. She is brilliant.
If you don't get the joke, you're a bloody idiot. THIS IS WHAT SANE FANDOM LOOKS LIKE.
I really need this:

without the watermark. Hires would be great. Hires of that entire evening would be rewarded with a picspam/icon of the giver's choice.
Anyone?
( And I'd like to add... )Please don't take this as rejection
