Things I don't like:

-The fact that they've once again killed a non-terrorist, this time in the States. Question: have the authorities actually shot dead a single terrorist yet? No. One illegal immigrant, one mentally disturbed bloke. This shoot first, ask questions later policy is very unnerving.
-Somebody has managed to start a rumour that Jake Gyllenhaal is pissy because Heath Ledger is getting all the attention for BBM based on two awards shows that he 'missed' that he, in fact, did not miss at all. WTF?
-The fact that my inbox has been flooded *twice over* with old LJ comments - and that I can't sort the old from the new without clicking every damn one. So, I'm sorry if I reply to old comments, or don't reply to new ones.

Things I like:

-Maggie Grace. Preparing a picspam now.
-Christmas music. Preparing a music spam now.
-Naveen Andrews - he's been very social lately, it's lovely for the website. I also love hearing "Mighty Joe Young starring Charlize Theron and LOST's Naveen Andrews" on the ads on channel 7.
-GIPs.

All I Want for Christmas - My Chemical Romance
Everybody's favourite Christmas song right now, it would seem, and with good reason. It's really fun and a nice contrast to the more mellow Christmas songs. Gerard singing a happy, upbeat song, who would've guessed?

Baby It's Cold Outside - Leon Redbone & Zooey Deschanel
MY favourite Christmas song right now. Not strictly a Christmas song so much as a winter song and therefore totally irrelevant to me at Christmas, this has the best and warmest vocals *ever* and it makes me smile just listening to it. I adore it.

Carol of the Bells - The Calling
And this is my favourite new actual Christmas carol - one of the few Calling songs I like (do yourselves a favour and listen to Adrienne.) The Carol of the Bells is a fantastic, amazing carol all by itself, but the lead singer of the Calling has such an amazing, raw quality to his voice and it makes the song really moving. Beautiful song.

Bizarre Christmas Incident - Ben Folds Five
And now for something completely different! A hilarious Christmas comedy song by Ben Folds Five. Don't download if you take the sanctity of Santa Claus too seriously.

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen - Barenaked Ladies & Sarah McLachlan
I've seen this recced probably more than anything else this Christmas season but there's a good reason - namely, it's really, really cool. I didn't think these two artists would go together so well but it works really well and the result is funky.

Sleigh Ride - Ella Fitzgerald
Have I mentioned lately how much I love Ella? My favourite female singer *ever*, so I had to rec something by her. This song is so gorgeous and her voice is perfect for it.

The Christmas Song - Guy Sebastian
Um, this is the first Australian Idol winner. And he had a cold when he recorded this. Still, you should download this song anyway, because it's the best version of the Christmas song I've EVER heard, including Ella's. I love Guy, he's got the most incredible voice and he makes me really happy.

White Christmas - Bing Crosby
It's impressive that even though I love my hot, summery Australian Christmasses and I hate snow, Bing always makes me want a white Christmas. He IS Christmas.

Speaking of which, this song is AWESOME. Bing & Bowie, man!

Santa Baby - by Marilyn Monroe, Everclear and Eartha Kitt
...I like this song. That's pretty much it. I mean come on, how much fun it is? Plus with Everclear you get a GUY singing it.

Run Rudolph Run - Hanson
I've recently realised, having downloaded both this and a 'Silent Night Medley' they did when they were younger, that I really only like Hanson now. They sound great, especially doing this song.

The Chanukah Song - Adam Sandler
Because it's fun to celebrate holidays that aren't Christmas too, and because Adam Sandler is funny.

Father Christmas - The Kinks
I just think it's awesome that I even have a Christmas song by The Kinks.

Feliz Navidad - Jose Feliciano
It's also fun to celebrate Christmas in other languages, as long as Elmo and Rosita aren't singing it.

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree - Peggy Lee and LeAnn Rimes
I'm not cool enough to know whether or not LeAnn Rimes is still considered the height of ick, but I haven't been able to get this song out of my head for the last few days (it's so much fun!) and I like her version of it, so whatever.

Happy Christmas (War is Over) - John Lennon
Ah yes, a lovely modern peace-on-earth Christmas message song. Wouldn't be a complete list without it.
