Things I don't like:

-The fact that they've once again killed a non-terrorist, this time in the States. Question: have the authorities actually shot dead a single terrorist yet? No. One illegal immigrant, one mentally disturbed bloke. This shoot first, ask questions later policy is very unnerving.
-Somebody has managed to start a rumour that Jake Gyllenhaal is pissy because Heath Ledger is getting all the attention for BBM based on two awards shows that he 'missed' that he, in fact, did not miss at all. WTF?
-The fact that my inbox has been flooded *twice over* with old LJ comments - and that I can't sort the old from the new without clicking every damn one. So, I'm sorry if I reply to old comments, or don't reply to new ones.

Things I like:

-Maggie Grace. Preparing a picspam now.
-Christmas music. Preparing a music spam now.
-Naveen Andrews - he's been very social lately, it's lovely for the website. I also love hearing "Mighty Joe Young starring Charlize Theron and LOST's Naveen Andrews" on the ads on channel 7.
-GIPs.

I don't like it either, but I would have hated to be in the shoes of the air marshals. I mean, there's a guy saying he has a bomb. What are you going to do? They need like tranquilizer guns or something instead of real guns.

Thanks for all the recent Dom goodness and looking forward to Maggie!

Yeah, I've been thinking that too. They're always in 'shoot to kill' rather than to stop the suspect. It's essentially a death sentence without a trial. The thing is, when police are out in the community sometimes shootings happen because they have no other choice, but I don't see these cases the same way - the officials are acting out of *fear*, which is scary.

I'd be scared too if someone says they have a bomb and if I know I have hundreds of people's lives in my hands. Ugly situation all the way around, but they don't have much choice in those situations.

Good points.

Now that I think of it, though... if a guy has a bomb, you do have to shoot to kill. Because, if you just injure him, the first thing he'll do if he think's he'll be captured is - set off the bomb.

From: [identity profile] mosinging1986.livejournal.com

True as well. I don't understand why they don't have some other type of weapon, like a stun gun or something. Good thing I'm not in charge of the world. Such difficult decisions that have to be made.

::sigh::

Oh thank god, I thought it was only happening to me.

I think you might have mixed up "Meet Joe Black" and "Mighty Joe Young." LOL.

Ooooh. Picspams!

Yup, I'm so *smooth*.

You're right. I changed it. *facepalm*

I ended up with 35 new messages just this morning. Kind of crazy, no?

Well. I don't know how I feel about the pseudo-bomber. I kind of figure it's more his fault than anyone else's--turns out that he didn't have any kind of bomb at all. What do you think's going to happen when you decide to go insane and insinuate that you're going to kill a plane full of people?

From: [identity profile] truffle-shuffle.livejournal.com

Not commenting on the non-terrorist thing because I'm not informed (the trouble with working two jobs is that you miss the news quite often).

As for the Jake thing, the media can never help themselves in making rivalries where there aren't any. Didn't they do the same thing with LOTR cast members? And besides, I don't think Jake is so shallow that he'd think he's more deserving than Heath, or that he'd be upset if he were overlooked. Fact of the matter is, he's getting amazing reviews for Jarhead and BBM, and I think that's all that really matters to him. What the media doesn't understand is that there are some actors that don't care so much about the award winning. Johnny Depp is a prime example. He flat out said he didn't want an Oscar.

The old comment thing is pissing me off too.

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

LMAO the only one I remember with the LotR cast members was people saying Elijah was jealous that they gave Andy Serkis a One Ring, and THAT rumour was made up by Dom because he's evil. *g*

I feel sorry for air marshals. They have a very stressful job... Joking about bombs is a big deal... Still, they could've wounded him! Shoot em' in the arm or leg; stop the guy from pressing 'the button...' The guy basically had a death wish.

The only reason why their saying crap about Jake is to stir up the media. Jake's not the type of guy who would get pissy over something like that. He's gotten a lot of praise for his other movies and I think he's worn out. XD Besides, he better not go shallow! I'll be sad/mad at him.

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

He wasn't joking, he was mentally disturbed. He had a psychological problem. I heard on the news that in those situations "we don't have time to psychoanalyse people", and the guy laughed. I was just INFURIATED.

They're saying crap, not their.

From: [identity profile] thepixieinside.livejournal.com

Well...the air marshals were just doing their job and I think it was the right one!

I thought you'd enjoy this. My mother works at the casino that hosted the Billboard Awards this year, and the celebrities were entering from the back. She's been trying for years to see at least ONE celebrity, and this year she saw Naveen. :D

From: [identity profile] lindsoo.livejournal.com

Well, she didn't talk to him, but she said he's REALLY short and has the lovliest smile!

I agree about the Air Marshall thing. A lot of people have been trying to convince me that the decision that he made was the correct one, and in a lot of ways I see their points. He said that he had a bomb. The marshalls are trained to ignore bystanders, so in this case his wife yelling that he was bi-polar. I heard an interview on the Today Show this morning with a formal Air Marshall, and he made it pretty clear that the marshall did his job. However, I find it sick that we've killed another innocent person. It's incredibly tragic, and I feel awful about it :(

Rumours suck. Gr.

I've gotten about 150 comments so far. Some of them are actually doubles--what!?! That makes NO sense to me. Are you getting that many, too?

YES MG PICSPAM. I approve.

I love Christmas music! I love this time of year in chorus, because singing carols is my favorite thing. I don't get to do that any other time (you know, the Judaism sorta gets in the way..)

NAVEEN. I love him. One of my friends doesn't think that he's attractive. She has been excommunicated, of course. How are your website issues? Better?

Love the icon :D. I have one of them that I made from the Emmys, but I can't be bothered to find an icon I want to switch out :/

From: [identity profile] flamingo-killer.livejournal.com

Ugh, former air marshall. I'm sure there are other boo-boos in here, so I do apologize for them!

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

...I didn't know his wife was standing there screaming at them.
I think being trained to ignore bystanders is very dangerous, and the more I hear about this the more convinced I am that a new system needs to be put in place.

Well, I deleted a bunch of videos and now I have much more space on the website, but it won't last. I need a new host.

Thankyou! It's by [livejournal.com profile] sunkissed44.

From: [identity profile] flamingo-killer.livejournal.com

Yeah, she was further back in the plane, saying repeatedly, "He's bi-polar! He's bi-polar! He just doesn't have his medication!!" ...or something to that effect.

It's so scary to think that you could make one wrong move and that you could be shot for it. It makes me feel less safe, inf anything.

That's too bad about needing to switch hosts. I wish I could rec something for you, but I don't have a site! :/
