i have to say, although im not a huge fan of the above cover(the green & blue is yuck!!), i generally prefer the uk editions(the GOF and especially OOTP are pure love )
the uk HBP adult cover is amazing though!!
they removed the text i think because it was fairly spoilery(i wont post here my thoughts, due to lack of an lj-cut)
Yeah, I liked the first three British ones better, the fourth one pretty much even, but I like the American OotP better than the UK and now there's no competition. This one is creepy and stupid-looking, and American one is pretty and spooky.
Do you have the version with the text?! Could I please have it?
I wonder what's with the boat...I wonder what's with the arm wrestling...I wonder what the back of the American version looks like.
I was told that at my bookstore, they lock up the books when the shipment comes in so that none of the employees can sneak a peek. Which is exactly what I had planned on doing. Dammit.
I'm really very fond of the second British one. And the first three American ones are just plain ugly. But this one I DEFINITELY like the US one better.
LOL I was so sad when I finished Pheonix that I didn't even think about it for a long long time...I seriously remember very little. So I am really enjoying the re-read! LOL
But you have a great plan going with the timing!! Hrm...will have to ponder that! :)
Ugh, I hate the covers of the British/Australian books. I prefer the adult covers, well, overall, I prefer the American ones. Man, why can't they all be the same?
The arm wrestling hands and Harry and Dumbledore's hands look all the same...meaning...it might be Harry and Dumbledore.
I have to agree...that art isn't so...alluring. And I am not particularly fond of the artwork for the American covers of the first three books. I actually find it rather annoying that Harry has to be flying on every cover...I feel like (sarcastically)"Whoo...he can fly...hooray...let's throw him a party. Hey he's flying again...holding a bird's butt...and hmm...there we are again...clutching a bigger birdie...alrighty."
And just so you know...being new to the magical world of JKR...I don't understand all the abbreviations yet...so I was slightly confused till someone said Pheonix...then I remembered the book...Order of the Pheonix. *duh me* All truly awesome stories are abbreviated though aren't they? Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter...hmm. Sorry...rambling.

It's about time to start my pre Half-Blood-Prince series reread though, as I expect to be short on reading time between now and July.

Yeah, I wonder what's with all that too, but mostly I wonder why the illustrator's gone downhill.

The abbreviations are just to make it easier to type.
