Don't have much to say tonight.

At some point I have to work out uni for next semester, which should be interesting to say the least. Have no idea what I'm going to do, as my uni breakdown continues. This has just been a bad year.

Meeting and work went well today though, if not very exciting. And we're getting lots of rain in Canberra, which is good, and I put in my request for pay from Fabric, which is also good.

I got onto MSN for the first time in ages and managed to promise to have James Marsters call a friend for his birthday, make a date for coffee for tomorrow afternoon, gotten into a deep and meaningful about boys, eyeliner and glitter, and worm a present out of someone. Ah, MSN, how I have missed thee.

Meanwhile, Doug is sick in hospital.

ETA: I have plans to be embarassing at the Tabula Rasa con in Melbourne. Not creepy stalkery embarassing, but shamelessly embarassing. Plans:
-bringing up Little Britain at every possible opportunity and getting Tony Head to giggle, because apparently once he starts he doesn't stop.
-getting James Marsters on the phone to my 22 year old male friend and say "Happy birthday niblet" in his Spike voice.

Link of the Day: An Introduction To Common Rotation at the journal of [livejournal.com profile] apraisechorus. I love that band.

Song of the Day: Invincible by Pat Benatar
Mostly coz I uploaded it for someone else. But come on, Pat Benatar! She is the coolest ever.

Pic of the Day, Orli and Kirsten (Keeeeeersten) in Elizabethtown - the poster. On the one hand, not convinced. On the other hand, Susan Sarandon.

I'm nervous about Orlando's abilities in a non-action role, with an American accent, which he failed at miserably in Black Hawk Down. (I'm also nervous about Kirsten's acting abilities as well). But it's a Cameron Crowe movie, and I do have faith in his directing and storytelling abilities, as I've loved everything he's ever done. That being said, I really like that poster. I don't know why.

LOL he only did two lines and he failed miserably. Genius.

Cameron Crowe? Sounds better already...and Susan Sarandon! Come on.

You didn't know it was a Cameron Crowe movie? Susan Sarandon plays Orlando's mom. I think it's going to be really good. The one thing that could potentially ruin it is Orlando's inability to relax onscreen when he has to deliver his lines. But maybe he'll surprise me. He has been getting slowly better with each movie, so...

Clearly ;) I've pretty much only heard that it's an Orladno Bloom movie.

Hmm, his mum? Interesting. Yeah, he's really not terribly talented...and he doesn't have the physical stuff to keep him busy this time. Should be interesting at the very least.

Random question... you didn't happen to go to the Lord of the Rings conference thingy in Canberra in March last year, did you? The one with Craig Parker, Mark Ferguson etc?
I noted you lived in Canberra that's all. And I was there... twas fun.

Yeah, I did go to that. Girl in the green crown? That was me.

I've never even heard of that movie! Is it supposed to be good?

and wtf, do you know James Marsters? lol

Elizabethtown's not out yet.

LOL no, I'm going to a convention in a couple of weeks and I'm going to meet him. And Tony Head and David Fury.

Sing it, sister.

And my favorite folksinger Patty Griffin has a bit walk on part too, so I'm going for her and Susan as much as Orli. Kirsten? I just saw Wimbledon and I've seen enough of her to last me for a while.

I really liked Wimbledon, but I agree, Kirsten is kind of...a lot to take in.

I've been looking at the courses on offer next semester and it's slim pickings as you've done all of the film courses offered. Modern novel into film was a good course (we did Heart of Darkness/Apocalypse Now and Mrs Dalloway) and there are some English courses that look okay (like American literature) and there is a science fiction course on in sociology (SOCY2053). Then, of course, there's French.

Yep, I'm signed up for Modern Novel. And one of the French things, but I'm going to have to go in and ask to re-take the other course *headdesk* if I do the Science Fiction course, two French courses and Modern Novel I'll have 4 courses again...

I think you'll need permission from the lecturer to to the sci-fi course, but sounds good. :)

I took Introduction to Social Psychology back in first year, so I had no trouble getting in.
