Yay, Chris got through!
I haven't felt this strongly about anyone in the semi-finals...well, since Courtney Act. ;) Meanwhile, I got my hair cut and went to a high school musical today. You know you're getting desperate when you're checking out 17 year olds. Also, you know you're overly critical when you're watching a high school musical based on The Iliad and counting all the mistakes.
ACHILLES + PATROCLUS = BIG GAY SEX, people. Why do they always mess this up?! Also, the message of The Iliad? Not so much "sacrifice everything for love" as "think with your head and not with your loins." At one point I felt like going up on stage and writing "TROUBLE" in big red letters across Paris's forehead.
All that said, the actors playing Paris and Helen were probably better than in Troy. Also, Menelaus was a hoot, and Agamemnon kept flirting with Achilles.

teh_indy or _chocobox 90% of icon making is just good luck. Find the right image, use the right combination of element and effects. All of my *best* icons have been mostly luck. Sometimes I try four or five different techniques on one picture and get nothing. Sometimes I have to recrop about four times. And sometimes everything is perfect the first time - which has happened twice. My 'So Zen' Dom icon and this recent one:
So don't panic if it's not going right for you and you're trying to use a picture you really love. Just keep trying.

lost_awards and nominate! I did it...once. Okay, I'm lazy. Doesn't mean it's not a good comm. Plus I won the last "Pen" for my "Interpretive Dance" icon :D
