I am so damn sick of the Catholic church.
I've honestly got nothing against Catholics, the majority of my family's Catholic (as you can tell by my going to my sister's confirmation today) and I have a lot of Catholic friends. But I must have been so badly brainwashed when I was younger to swallow the bullshit they feed you at mass. Made me sick. There was a list of sins as long as your arm that included "sorcery" and "sexual indecency." Of course according to the church, sexual decency is having sex with a sheet with a hole in it between you missionary-style so you can't even see the other person, I imagine. Sorry, ranting. It just seems all a bit much to me. Esp. at the end when the priest said that he was impressed with people who supported their children's confirmation who weren't Catholic but "from other Christian churches." I'm not Christian, I was there. I knew at least a few other people who were less Christian than I am there. I amused myself by thinking dirty thoughts and swearing a lot in my head when the kid behind the microphone hoped our thoughts pleased God.
Breathing now. So yes, went to my sister's confirmation today. Spent most of the time developing a crush on a kid in front of me. Boy, if I was a few years younger. Then we had a little "party" here aftyerwards consisting of relatives and the Pratts with their 7-yr-old daughter, Madeleine, who stayed to watch Miss Congeniality before disappearing off home. I did a bit of that damned assignment. Organised Yuka's visit a little. Yay! Yukako's visiting next month! and only 13 days until HP5!!!
It's a long weekend this w/end so lots of firecrackers going off. Slept terribly last night, on Clare's top bunk. She's an unbelievably noisy sleeper.
