Okay, you know what? I don't care what anyone else says, this year's crop of Idols are the best we've ever had down under. THe boys are all gorgeous and individual and some of the girls have the most amazing voices I've heard on this show. It's so damn hard for me to pick a favourite.
Tarni (On My Mind) - in my opinion she's the prettiest girl in the competition, which is saying something. I thought she picked a good song and did a good job, but she wasn't the best. LOVE her hair.
Laura (You're My World) - she wasn't *as* bad but I still hate her. Don't like her personality, her look or her voice one bit.
Daniel Spillane (Tucker's Daughter) - how cute is he? Does he remind anyone else of Colin Farrell? Another great song and really well performed. I love his eyes, he just sparkles.
Roxane (Forever Now) - wow, she did a great job of a really tough song. I liked the whole gold thing she had going on, she looked so cute. I love her voice.
Emily (Buses & Trains) - I dunno, I've never really felt her. I love that song, but I don't really connect with her like I do with the others.
Milly (Playing To Win) - I didn't like this performance. She looked swamped by the lights and stage and music, and she wasn't nearly as charismatic as in her previous performances. I hope she stays because she is really funky, but tonight I'd put her in the bottom 2.
Lee (Holy Grail) - I actually thought he did a pretty good job of this song considering it's not his area. He put a lot into it, and he did an ok job on the quieter bits. I love his smile, and he's got so much energy I can't dislike him. Gorgeous, too. He's got a huge fan base already I reckon - the girls were screaming halfway through his bloody song!
Kate (Please Don't Ask Me) - Wow, this was absolutely fantastic. What an incredible voice, and she looked really good too.
Chris (Throw Your Arms Around Me) - I love this song and I love him, so there wasn't a chance in hell I'd dislike this. I love his voice. He turns me to goo.
Natalie (Absolutely Everybody) - again, great voice and good performance, but I'm just not feeling her at all. She's too intense for me. Didn't like her clothes either.
James (The Day You Went Away) - started out wobbly but he really came through and brought it home at the end, I think. He's got nice eyes too, and he's looking really good. I reckon if he kills those nerves he could go a really long way. How much are James and James in love with each other?!
Anne (I Don't Want To Be With Nobody But You) - the third girl whose performance I admired but didn't really enjoy. Good voice, good moves, looks good, but I don't connect with her at all.
Dan (Crying Shame) - Oh dear gods, he's amazing. Great voice, looks cute, and he's got the trademark hair which never hurts.
I think the weirdest part for me tonight was the introductory videos. There was a really strong emphasis on cute family stuff, and if the boys had girlfriends they were really, really stressing that. I wonder what the producers are trying to get across.
I need an Idol icon.
