Jake Gyllenhaal article from OutUK. Very cute. The fact that the reporter's name is Ron Dicker made me laugh loudly and inappropriately though. And check this out:
Gyllenhaal, 24, is best known for the blockbuster The Day After Tomorrow and for playing Jennifer Aniston's WalMart paramour in The Good Girl.
Um. Donnie Darko, anybody?
Jake from Toronto Star.
Vague fan review.
Review at CinemaScope.
As a film it’s not overly remarkable, but as a riposte to red state-rs and horse-opera purists alike it’s gutsy, tasteful, and moving.
Yeah, right. Not overly remarkable. Because those gorgeous shots from the trailer? Clearly not overly remarkable. *rolls eyes* Mostly a positive review, but far too focussed on the whole gay cowboys in conservative America oh noes! aspect and not enough on the actual *film*.
And, in the "gee, you think?" category of fans:
I'm wondering if Brokeback Mountain is based on a previously published book? The trailer to the movie has got me all excited jumping around waiting for it to hit my city. WEE! :D
What. The. Fuck.
Apparently we here in Oz aren't getting the movie til Australia Day (January 26th.) This seems deeply and painfully unfair to me. I've had some time to get over the shock, but I'm still upset.
ETA: Nothing to do with BBM, but this cheered me up: Best comeback line ever.
Now if you'll excuse me, I worked at Luke's school this morning and worked on an essay this afternoon and I'm *exhausted*.
Is it gay cowboy month yet?
