OMG thank the gods Lost Boys was good!!

I finally got to see this movie today. It's been one of those cases where I was desperate to see it but also very afraid of it sucking and disappointing me (see: Blade Runner.) But it DIDN'T suck! It was fantastic and funny and kinda hot and pretty gay and I LOVED it. I can't wait to watch all the extras on the DVD after work tomorrow.

So yes, work today was hell but then T&N came over and we had loads of fun and ate pasta and popcorn and drank beer and rented movies - Welcome to Wellville (very, very odd movie with lots of enemas and cornflakes and "German womb massagers") and Lost Boys (80's vampire flick.) I dunno how many of you know about my love/hate relationship with the 80's, but I'm basically a huge 80's movie buff. And I LOVED Lost Boys, it was everything I hoped it would be - it even had 80's music in moderation without too much synth, which was a nice change. Kiefer Sutherland is SEX.

I'd give you a really detailed review of it but I just want to enjoy it.

You Are 50% Weird

Normal enough to know that you're weird...
But too damn weird to do anything about it!

I don't know what the weird answers were, though.

It's SpiderDom!

I'm off to the warm embrace of my afternoon enema

For the longest time, after Goonies, The Lost Boys was my second favorite movie. I still love it. Plus, the soundtrack is awesome (the INXS songs are great). When I was younger (it came out when I was in 6th grade), I had a mad crush on Corey Haim, but now when I watch it, it's all about Keifer, totally.

I don't think I've ever seen that picture of Dom before...

It's fantastic!! But yeah, after The Goonies *g* nothing will ever replace the Goonies in my heart.
Oh, INXS. That explains it. Corey Haim is CUTE! But mostly in a little-kid way.

There's a whole shoot. Should I post the rest?

From: [identity profile] truffle-shuffle.livejournal.com

Oh, Lost Boys could never replace Goonies. But it definitely was second for a loooooong time. Corey Haim was adorable back then. Not so much anymore.

As for the Dom shoot, I figure since you're doing a Daily Dom Dose, the rest will pop up eventually, yeah? Unless you really want to post a spam, of course. :p

YAY!

So glad you saw it and liked it.

I was obsessed with "The Lost Boys" when I was about 13. It's still one of my favorite movies ever, and I remember being totally bummed when the Coreys were signing DVDs at last year's Comic-Con. I was bummed because their signing was at the same time the Dom/Evi/Foxy signing. I don't think I need to tell you which one I chose. :P

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

OH MY GODS. I would've got Dom, Evi and Foxy, then run my ass off to get to the Coreys. COREYS!!!

From: [identity profile] chancecaught.livejournal.com

I know, right? But the people I was with were haterz, and I had to eat or I would have passed out (I was too nervous to eat before I met Dom because I am a lame fangirl), so we left. I still regret it to this day. :sigh:

lost boys as in keifer sutherland and the coreys lostboys?

yeah it was good...it was before joel shuemacher went down hill.

feldman is.... well i'll keep my mouth shut ;)

what do they have to do with the amazing race?

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Damn right you'll keep your mouth shut about Corey Feldman. He may have his issues but he was still an 80's icon.

Joel Schumacher produces doesn't he? Or is that someone else? And didn't he do Pirates too?

From: [identity profile] speakerwiggin.livejournal.com

JS directs...he did lost boys and a time to kill but he also did showgirls and batman and robin....

Oooh, right, I'm all sorted out now. I know who it is.

I LOVED Phone Booth, but not so keen on Phantom of the Opera.

That's Jerry Brucheimer (or how ever you spell it) that you're thinking of.

I've loved The Lost Boys ever since I was about five years old. It scared the absolute shit out of me and I couldn't listen to that song, "Cry Little Sister" for a long time. *laughs*

I bought it on DVD today! Found the 2 Disc Edition of it for like $13! SCORE! I can't wait to watch the extras.

How Weird Are You? (http://www.blogthings.com/howweirdareyouquiz/)

So... is it weird to let somebody else have the parking space... or weird to fight for it? *G*

Is it weird to stiff the waiter, or to tipe them anyway?

(I let them have the parking space and tipped anyway... *G*)

The Lost Boys has always been one of my favorite movies. I used to have the biggest crush on Jason Patrick...heh heh..

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Yeah, Jason Patric was hot when he was bad. Not so much at the beginning, but once he went evil and sweaty with his leather jacket...mmm.

the road to wellville, isn't that the one with Matthew Broderick? I found that ever so unusual and amusing!

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Yep, that's the one. I thought it was funny but very strange. And it had Garth from Wayne's World!

cool pic - And Lost Boys was quite a cool movie...I didn't see it myself until a few years ago. Gotta love the Coreys!

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

I do, I do love the Coreys. Yeah, I was supposed to see it once when I was 12 or 13 but it fell through and ever since then it's been avoiding me *g*

One of my favs from my youth - that, Goonies, the Police Academy run, and all the Brat Pack films! Not to metion Gremlins!!!

yay! glad you liked it!

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Re: The Lost Boy?

Yeah, I rented it but I'm gonna run out and buy it soon. Goonies! Gremlins! (Chris Columbus wrote both those and directed the first two Harry Potter films. Which just goes to show he's a better writer than director.) Police Academy! BRAT PACK! Sadly, that wasn't even my youth and yet I'm in love with all of them. Also Back to the Future and Stand By Me.

Loved it. Might make icons if you comment on my Lost Boys <a href='http://www.livejournal.com/users/green_queen/361574.html#cutid1">picspam post</a>.
