I saw Star Wars again today.
I located 10 minutes of solid good movie and a few other bits scattered through the film. I really felt like it was two movies - on that was good and one that was awful - and they were timesharing the screen.
*spirit fingers* WAR!
Opening shot: there is NO SIGN of a giant battle going on below that first big ship, which makes me dizzy thinking about it. Logically a lot of the battle makes no sense, and much of the editing is just plain confusing. I do so love the banter, though.
Sam Jackson may have a kickass purple lightsaber but Mace Windu was a dick.
Palpatine = WORST MAKEUP EVER, and does the Dark Side give him orgasms or something?
Obi-Wan and Anakin, just so much love. I was reminded of Troy with the cousin/brother thing.

rosemending, I thought of you when Obi-Wan cut off Anakin's legs. I was all "Bet Stumpy finds him hotter now." tuatha_de didn't get it, or didn't hear me, one or the other.
Thank the gods Jar Jar didn't speak, though Yoda's baffling dialogue almost makes up for it.
If anyone else had written it that could've been a really brilliant movie, with strong characterisation, good battle scenes and a real dramatic core. The frustrating thing is the juxtaposition between the great movie it could have been and the mediocre movie it was.
Meanwhile, it was so much fun hanging out with Tom and Nina today.

Buffy: The Quotable Slayer (light reading for the bus, only cost $5.)

Something would be remiss if I didn't include one oflillithlotr's Comicon pictures in here. I LOVE THEM. I love his body in that shirt and those jeans, I love his hair, and this pic makes me smile.

This is a sentimental favourite, probably my favourite LotR cast picture. They look so happy and comfortable and not-movie-star.

ROCK STAR FACE! Everybody loves the blue shiny suit. Plus this is the best example ever of his habit of writing on his hands.

So very beautiful. I just love him in eyeliner. This pic is also kinda mysterious to me, since I don't know what it's from.

Another eyeliner picture. He's sort of ethereally beautiful here, which isn't often a Dom trait. Too pretty.

With regard to the first Lost link, the clip from the pilot was said to be an error. The wingy thing is like...a tag or something as to where a special effect goes or..somethign. And they forgot to remove it. Interesting of it to come BACK, though.

I agree with your analysis of Star Wars. It could have been good, but then it really wasn't. And that shirt wins at LIFE.
