I just have to laugh now. I've grrred and been frustrated over our treatment by the international entertainment industry so many times. It really sucks being a fan in Australia.
Thank god I live in a country where we make sure our brave astronauts do not have to face making the ultimate sacrifice: missing the latest Harry Potter movie.
Btw, I dunno if you've seen this OR if it's true, but apparently this girl is up for the part of Luna:
.
I dunno if I believe it, but it so far seems legit-ish, so we'll see. It's just really hard to tell, because the possibiles are supposed to be kept completely secret.
Really? I think she'll be back to help Harry with some DA folks for some fighting, but not for finding the horcruxes, which I imagine will take most of the book. I think that will be just Ron and Hermione (and maybe Ginny?) with him, because he feels like he has to do it alone.
I hope you're right though--I'd love having her back for a major part!
I have a theory about the heirs of the founders of Hogwarts coming back for the final battle - and Luna being one of them. Luna, Voldemort, Harry and Zacharias Smith, in fact.
That is fucking hardcore. I never thought of it at ALL that way! That is a really, really cool idea--you definitely need to write up your theory sometime!
I love discussing HP theories. It's so much fun and really cool to see other takes on the books!
Well, there was Hepzibah Smith in Half-Blood Prince, and she was a descendant of Hufflepuff. I know Smith is a common last name, but since Zacharias is in Hufflepuff I don't think it's too much of a leap to assume he's from her family. We know Voldemort is the descendant of Slytherin. The Potters lived in Godric's Hollow, and of course it was Godric Gryffindor. James and Harry are seekers, and someone else who lived in Godric's Hollow (Bowman Wright, in fact.) There's the fact that Harry pulled Godric's sword from the sorting hat, as well.
Luna's a stretch, but she's about the only Ravenclaw we've heard from enough to consider. Also, she's awesome.
Shoot, I really need to pay attention the next time I read HBP. I'm not picking up on as much as I used to.
That's great logic on Hepzibah Smith. I agree-I really doubt that it's an accident about Zacharias and that story. JKR rarely makes mistakes or causes confusion based on names (actually, the only thing I can even think of regarding names is Mark Evans).
I've always wondered about Harry. However, wasn't James a chaser? Or was he a chaser in the movies? (Stupid movies are rotting my BRAIN!). Whatever, I think it is pretty fair to assume Harry is a descendent of Gryffindor either way, but we'll find that out (hopefully) when he returns to Godric's Hollow in the beginning of book 7.
He was a chaser in the first movie but in the book he was playing with a snitch, so I'm going to go ahead and assume he was a Seeker and that Kloves and Columbus made a mistake.
LOL well who else could it be? Cho (unlikely), Padma, one of the boys that joined the DA, Flitwick. I think Luna's more likely. Plus it'd add a girl to the mix.
Oh wait! I found it on the HPL: "Gryffindor Chaser (Sch2), Quidditch Cup winner (PA14). NOTE: In the first film, James was said to be a Seeker (PS/f), but JKR stated that he was a Chaser in the second Scholastic interview. Yes, the editors are aware that on a summer's day when he was 15 he was fooling around with a Golden Snitch - much more effective to impress girls than a Quaffle, of course, and something that proves nothing about which position he actually played. JKR said in Sch2 that James was a Chaser, so until she explicitly says otherwise, her word goes."
WTF!! As ron would say bloody hell! Well yeah at least george Dubuyah isn't our apey leader, but we have his sniveling butt-monkey instead *sigh* At least if we contemplate a move from Aussie to see it first it doesn't have to be to America, it can be to space!
Meh, I'm annoyed because the last film, we got it the same time, and in Tassie (where I am) we got it before ANYONE (except for the premieres, of course) and I felt so special. Silly Aussie film distributers.

I love Luna, too. I'm glad she still took a part of HBP, because I have a feeling that she won't be in much of the seventh book :/
