There are no Fred and George on the first list :((
And...I can't even begin to figure out what they are thinking with the Gary Oldman situation...even if it's about the money, hello WB you have it, just suck it up and give it to him.
There's NOBODY there except people who seem to have nothing to do with anything. I love Cedric and all, but there are MORE IMPORTANT THINGS to focus on here!
Yeah, he is. The rumours seem to actually be coming from the usual confirmers - the WB - rather than Oldman's camp. Oldman is DEFINITELY not signed on yet.
I'm finding all this to be genuinely upsetting. I love Sirius so much and the character's being marred by all this stupidity.
I'm one of his biggest fans, but even without that I know he's important to the fifth installment. And it seems he will be in it...with or without Gary.
It's this simple: No Gary Oldman as Sirius means no me. I will not go see this at the movies if Gary is not playing Sirius. I will download it.
if it keeps going like that, I'm gonna go all Book5!Harry on them!
HOW COULD YOU DO THAT???
No Fred&George? Nooooo! No "give her hell for us Peeves"? Oh, right, there's no Peeves anyway...
And it's impossible not to have Sirius in the movie. No no no no no. How could they explain why Harry wants to go so badly to the Ministry of Magic then?
I have the feeling I may not go to see this movie...
PS: Cedric in a flashback? so they cut characters off the movie but make dead ones come back?
Well, I didn't like Gary Oldman as Sirius. This tattooed bearded Sirius was far from what I have imagined while reading the books. So if they can find a better looking actor, especially for the young Sirius, that would be not bad. I have nothing against Gary Oldmann, he's a great actor, but I thought that the PoA casting wasn't very well made. And by the way, I have largely prefered the GoF than the PoA.
*extremely confused* No Fred and George?! The "give her hell for us, Peeves" was, more or less, one of the best parts of Book 5, in my opinion, and it's not there (oh, right, Peeves doesn't exist, either). No Gary Oldman? What in the blazes does that even mean? Exactly who is going to be wearing loads of Gary Oldman makeup and facial prosthetics as he is killed, hmm? Aside from the fact that I loved Gary Oldman's Sirius, he is bloody important to the book! They can't just replace him with a different face, can they? _Can_ they?
My fragile, fangirl heart is a weepy, livid mess. I can't think clearly...several rude gestures come to mind, though. RAWRRRG. It's at times like these that I wish I had a dinosaur to "deal" with those who dare meddle with fandom.
Woah. Now, I'm not the largest HP fan, but I DO know that without Sirus, this will be a fucked-up movie. Even if they DO have Sirius (and not have Gary Oldman), it will STILL be a fucked-up movie because the fan-base would have to get used to a whole new Sirius actor and like him all over again only to have him die. If WB is planning to have Sirius at ALL, it would be wise for them to just suck up and keep Gary, simply because it would be easier for the fanbase, and the fanbase would no doubt like that. Now, I do understand that there are many people who don't like Gary Oldman and would probably like a new Sirius, but it's a little late (in my mind, at least) to change the character. Hmm.
That's the official site of Gary Oldman's agent. Basically what's happening is WB is all "He's signed on! He's signed on!" whereas Oldman's camp is like "WTF, we haven't even been ASKED yet."
What makes me second guess that that is actually the site for his agent is this: "The Reporter story today also indicated that Mr. Oldman is filming David Fincher's "Zodiac." Mr. Oldman is not in the film "Zodiac" and never was. It has been reported that he was playing the role of Melvin Belli. He is not. The part is being played by the wonderful actor Brian Cox."
Gary Oldman was one of the FIRST actors signed on for that movie. Brian Cox isn't even mentioned AT ALL ANYWHERE.
My point being, don't get too worked up just yet. This could all be entirely false.

Where did you get that site from, anyway? I thought this was all settled and it was confirmed that Gary Oldman was going to be in OotP.

I adore Rob, but really he doesn't need to be taking up the precious screen time of a close-to-900 page plot :(
And really, though I don't like GO as Sirius, I'd be pissed at the continuity (or lack there of). I'm really scared for this film, too :((
[However, I surprisingly did like GoF--of course, pretending that it wasn't an adaptation of the book, but I did enjoy it...so maybe?]
