Watching Ellen:

How is it that Michael is such a jackass but Harold Perrineau is the most adorable thing on the face of the planet? Also, the purple top looks good on him.

it means that he's an even better actor than we realized haha. it's weird, but after 2 seasons on lost i STILL think of him as mercutio.

I agree. He bores me to tears as Michael, but he is quite charming as himself. His character is just such a whiny bitch.

We all know you want your boy back, blah blah. I secretly hoped they would kill Walt. Just so Michael would have to shut his hole for a bit.

LOL yes, but it's not just that...his character's just infuriating. I know that's not Harold's fault as an actor but the thing is, I think we were supposed to feel sympathy at least for his character, understanding his plight and all. Most people I've spoken to don't love to hate him, they aren't impressed with him or anything, they just don't like him. He was annoying BEFORE he was evil.

I've seen similarly conflicted characters who I felt a lot more sympathy for in the past. Being a fan of Harold's, I'd argue it's more the writers' faults than his as an actor.

Re, Michael: I was never really into him. Now I genuinely dislike him. I understand his plight and all, but he has now killed a few people and led other people who have tried repeatedly to help him to an uncertain future and possibly even death. That sucks.
Re. Harold: I like him a lot, like many, ever since Romeo and Juliet. He's basically good in everything, so there's no question it's the writers who are to blame for the disliking of the character.

Yeah, I've loved Harold since R+J too, I LOVE his Mercutio. I should've had more faith in him but clearly I just needed to see R+J again.

They just didn't make the most of his character - he could have been VERY interesting and sympathetic, but he was just...irritating.

I actually like the "evil" Michael better. I realize he only did what he had to, in order to get his son back. He's not "really" evil. Even so, when he shot Ana Lucia, and Libby..for a second I liked Michael again. Because for once he was doing something unpredictable.

I agree with you,It's not Harold's fault at all. The person or persons to blame are the writers. Harold is just taking what they put on the page, and making it his own.

That's how you know he's a good actor. I wish his character wasn't so effing annoying.

Well I was starting to wonder because Michael is such a wet character. I should've had more faith, I've loved Harold since R+J. The writers just did not make the most of Michael.

I miss his long hair.

R: You talk of nothing
