According to wikipedia and imdb, he was married to Colby Taylor, a makeup artist, from 1997 to 1999. The sad thing is that I totally remembered that from when I was infatuated with him when I was 13. :)

OMG!!! Darren Hayes!!! This is BIG NEWS!
I had absolutely no idea he was gay. None at all. I must've been asleep or something...no idea at all.
But nevertheless, I'm seriously happy for him and I wish him and his husband the best. Thanks for this info!

He was married before, to a woman, so I'm pretty sure he's bi. I think most people knew. He sang about it once, kinda:
