I saw a bunch of footage of Children of Men today at comic con. It's funny, Alfonso said that there were more edits in the trailer than there are in the film, and then he proceded to show us what he meant. They filmed the movie in segments, long single shot segments. We saw one that must have been about 5 or 6 minutes long, no cuts, all done very documentary or news reporter style. I can't even imagine the headaches involved in blocking such a shot, but Alfonso did admit later to regretting his stylistic decision to film this way for that very reason. Anyhow, we saw two such clips, both rather amazing in feel. Oh, and Alfonso was interiewed by Guillermo del Toro, they were so cute together.

I saw "Paris Je t'aime" the other day and the Alfonso Cuaron part made me squee. Why? The 2 actors are talking while walking in the street and at one point they pass in front of a videostore. And there what do we see but a "Motorcycle Diaries" poster! And dot the French one but the international one. Which means that it was a personal choice from Cuaron. Hehe *love*
And the fact that Alain Chabat wears Gael's peruvian hat in The Science of Sleep is great too. :D
