If you don't love Michael Muhney yet, you will after reading this interview. Though why you wouldn't love him yet I have no idea. Not when he's that funny as well as the sweetest person in history.
ETA: *FLAILS LIKE A MAD FLAILY...THING...*
He replied to my post in the
rack_of_lamb community! How is he so awesome?
Jarrow272: What attracted you most to the role and/or the show?
MM: The money. The drugs. The power. Okay, Rob Thomas.
ETA: Rachael Blake at Comic-con. The Hanso chick.
ETA one more time: Guy Sebastian performs Climb Every Mountain, because I'm feeling the season 1 Australian Idol nostalgia. Oh Guy, I love you. Plus, he points to Courtney Act in the audience at Dicko's 'Oxford Street' comment.
Today I saw Almost Famous
My sister had already seen the movie and while the credits were rolling I kept hitting her and saying "Why didn't you tel me *insert name here* was in this?!" Admittedly I missed like 90% of the awesome people under all that hair, but still.
Okay, I LOVED this movie. I felt exactly like Patrick Fugit, wondering through the world of rock star cool and all the pros and cons that it presents, and I loved every minute of it. Kate Hudson was completely amazing as Penny Lane, too, and I kind of love Jason Lee. Billy Crudup reminds me of Jonathan Schaech in That Thing You Do. The movie was shot really well, so intoxicating and gorgeous, and the real world is so...unappealing, less real somehow, less alive. Zooey Deschanel is beautiful. It was so well written, too, sharp and funny and clever. LOVE.
ETA: two things I forgot to mention. Firstly, the music is SO well chosen and really fantastic, but what more would you expect from a music fan? Secondly, there is BONUS BOYKISSING (Billy Crudup kisses Jason Lee's cheek at the end of the movie). Boykissing always gets points.
9 out of 10.
More pretty Outsiders icons.
I saw JDM on Grey's Anatomy tonight. Denny! ♥ I love him so much.

If you're taking recommendations I've seen these movies lately and really enjoyed them: Requiem for a Dream (possibly the most depressing film I have ever seen), Wag the Dog and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang icons (http://green-queen.livejournal.com/426390.html#cutid1).
Suffice it to say I. Love. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. We have it on DVD and my sister and I have watched it like 10 times since buying it. I want to be Gay Perry when I grow up.

The show? Turks. The exec. producer and director? Bob Singer. Yes, that Bob, the one who is the exec. producer of Supernatural. I saw him, and had fun chatting with him over fond memories, at the TCAs recently. I forgot to bust his chops. Maybe next time. Oh yes, there will be revenge.
I kinda maybe love him quite a bit, omg.

Also watch the shirtless scene again. And then Donut Run, and then every other scene he's ever been in, because yes, HE WINS AT LIFE.

Before Saturday I liked Michael Muhney a bunch, but now? I've been converted. I LOVE HIM. He's the greatest.

The moment when the sister leaves, using "America" as the explanation for her decision has got to be one of my all-time favourite movie moments ever.

Penny Lane is Liv's mum? Makes sense. So that makes the band...Aerosmith?

Bebe was queen of groupies in that time, so the link is quite obvious. In her Wikipedia bio it says that Crowe even used statements from interviews she made over the years for Penny's lines.
So that makes the band...Aerosmith?
I think Aerosmith came later. Actually, I was discussing it with my dad, and we agree with Stillwater being a mix of all the bands Crowe toured with in the early '70s when he wrote all those articles for Rolling Stone - especially the Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Fleetwood Mac.
And let's not forget the fact that Peter Frampton gave guitar lessons to Billy Crudup for the role, besides being in charge of the group's stunning sound. So cool.
