In the vein of that weird dog thingie that got hit by a car in America recently, scientists in Japan have unearthed a weird fish-lizardy thing that looks like the creatures from Dark Crystal!

Holy crap, that thing's huge! And it DEFINATELY looks like the things from the Dark Crystal. Wow, that's so fantastically insane, haha. I can't wait till they figure out what it is!

Wow, interesting. Looks a lot like one of the links in the comments though - some type of sea-somethingorother (hence the lack of nostrils in the usual place and the really long spine).

I saw the dog-thing too, that was bizarre-looking. Since DNA tests proved it to be a dog-wolf hybrid, with the really short snout and broad head I'm thinking it must've been a wolf hybrid with a boxer or some other breed with broad faces and flat noses.

Still, very weird!
