Why today totally sucks:
-I looked at my bank balance and realised that for me to be that low on money somebody hasn't been paying me. Which, you know, SUCKS, so I'm going to the bank tomorrow to get a statement to take to work and say I HAVEN'T BEEN PAID. *sigh*
-Having no money means I can't justify getting the Naveen teddy I want SO BADLY. *sad* but you guys should go bid so it gets lots of money. Paddywhack and Ian Somerhalder teddy bears also available.
Why today totally doesn't suck:
-I got two postcards from
__outofmymind and one from
nentari. THANKYOU! I love them!!!
-BOYS. JARED HUGGING JENSEN AUGH SO CUTE.
-Jewel talking about a possible Serenity sequel concept. Sounds very Joss. I like it.
[Unknown site tag]'s Lost Discussion Thread for the week, go join in!!
All the new CW launch pictures I've found since I last posted about it:
Michael Muhney.
Veronica Mars cast (HOT TWIN OMG!)
A heap of Jason Dohring.
Jensen Ackles, plus some Jared-y bits.
Jared & Jensen.
Jared & Jensen, plus everyone on stage.
The hugging. Caps here.
Tonight I saw City of God
I knew it would be heavy-going, but when I flicked on to SBS in the break between The Glass House and The Movie Show and saw that it was on I knew I had to watch it. It's the film student compulsion, if there's an important movie on you can't not watch it. Anyway, I knew it was going to be intense, but I had no idea how filmic it was going to be.
I thought it would be dry and relentless and documentary-like in style, but it's actually filmed beautifully with some fantastic, clever and interesting filmmaking techniques. It has a story and a beat and it IS really hard to watch at times - the amount of violence is stomach-turning - but it's totally compelling. The actors are amazing, and the characters are just so fascinating, though one of them is kind of psycopahtic and really hard to watch. It's a lesson film, but it doesn't feel as patronising as The Constant Gardener did, to me. It's confronting and harsh and incredible. Wow.
9 out of 10.
And now, a picspam. Boys in kilts/plaid seemed to be a popular option in my poll, so here's my first picspam now that I can access Photobucket again: a plaid spam!

(the lining of his jacket. What? So I wanted to include some Jensen!)

I think I win for having two boykissing plaid pictures.
Where better to look for a miracle than in a slum called the City of God?

Anyway, I'm really glad you like it. That place means a lot to me, and I love to share it with the world (and especially to Whedon fans, of course).

I love Party of Five!Foxy. I like Charlie Salinger more than Jack Sheppard, though the boy has his issues.

That's fine by me because when you win, we all win. Especially with the boykissing pics. Will you be doing all the picspam ideas from your poll, or will you have a vote?

I'm just going to do the ones I like. I'm entitled, because it's my journal and I'm the queen. ;)
