I had a good day.
I drove my father to get his bike tyre fixed in his lunch break, so he bought me lunch. It was just a sandwich, but still, they always seem better bought. And a lamington. Then I watched a movie, and then I played The Sims, and then I went out to dinner with my friend. It wasn't an EXCITING day, but it was really nice.
Today I saw La Mala Educacion (Bad Education)
Well, to start with, it wasn't what I was expecting. Actually, saying 'it wasn't what I expected' is putting my surprise mildly. The structure and the theme of the movie were totally different to anything else I've seen of Almodovar's. I'm not going to reveal...well, any of the plot here, actually, partly because I doubt many people on my flist have seen it and partly because to ruin the tiniest bit might ruin the whole thing. It's dark and sexy and unapologetically film noir, and I think Gael Garcia Bernal might just be my favourite femme fatale *ever*.
Dude, GGB. He is so utterly beautiful, both as a man AND as a woman. He was so mysterious and sexy and WONDERFUL in this. He's an enigma until almost at the end. Such an excellent actor, I'm telling you.
The film is gorgeous, too. Almodovar knows his way around colours like nobody else. I've never seen such a vibrant film noir in my life. The actors are all so good too, except maybe the guy who played Enrique, who I wasn't feeling. He totally looks like William Fichtner, though.
The themes the film explored were so unsettling and unusual as well. It's all a bit disturbing, actually, but in a brilliant sort of way.
8 out of 10.
To celebrate my viewing of Bad Education, I present

How is it possible that you put in pictures I have never seen before? *scratches head* Well, now I have them all.
He was so good in La Mala Educacion. He should have had an Oscar nomination.
Isn't this the best cover ever?

Aaaand, he is shooting a movie in Buenos Aires right now. Which makes me wonder: what am I doing here, typing this, when I could be stalking him instead?
