I'm kind of depressed.

It's my birthday a week from today and I can't afford to go to Sydney or do pretty much anything, I can't think of anyone to hang out with, I still haven't told my father about my fucked up uni, my life's going nowhere and I'm 23. It sucks.

Meanwhile, if you are in fandom: liking one pairing does not entitle you to be as rude as you like to fans of another pairing. Liking one character does not entitle you to be equally rude about another character. Attacking actors is not on. If you dislike something, fine, give reasoned arguments or express your opinions politely, but remember it's just a character.

Am I the only person who doesn't automatically equate 'hot' with 'attractive'? I think there are other qualities that go into making a person, character or cast 'hot' without just being physically attractive. I like casts that gel well, I like personalities. I think Veronica Mars is one of the hottest casts because of their chemistry, not just because they're all attractive.

This review of Supernatural 2.06 'No Exit' hits on the exact reason why I didn't like it. It wasn't a bad episode, but it wasn't an episode of Supernatural. Shame it's so horrendously written.

I should join dudemeister, because this is awesome. Supernatural is the nerdiest fandom I'm in, I swear. I also love kroki_refur's Ten Expressions and (while I'm at it) sargraf's Brotherly Manlove Catalogue and anteka's Plastic Winchesters.

Completely agree, I get that same vibe with...for example...Spike, he isn't the most attractive guy in the world but his character (and black nails) made him totally hot.

This is so utterly my situation right now its kinda ridiculous. My birthday's on sunday, i'm turning 23, there have been big crappy changes at uni I still haven't told my parents about, I don't know what to do with the rest of my life and I'm broke.

I actually would use the words the opposite way from how you seem to use them. "Hot" would be the blunt force trauma of physical attractiveness or the deliberately sexually titilating. (I tend to find this incredibly boring.) But people can be attractive and also sexy in other ways.

Ian Somerhalder is so pretty it's almost...too pretty. You know how sometimes hot boys try and uglify themselves by not shaving or growing out their hair or whatever? Most of the time it makes them a little less pretty, but Ian almost looks like a girl with a beard.

Even if you don't go to Sydney, your birthday will be really good! Can you hang out with Tom? Also, as much as everything may seem to suck right now (about uni etc.), it's just a little phase. Everyone has that some time in college :-/

Also, I definitely don't equate hot with attractive. I mean, in addition to what you said, someone can be beautiful or pretty and not be hot at all.
