So yesterday I saw probably the single funniest stoner movie I've ever seen in my life. I LOVED it. I have a thing for Jeff Bridges anyway, and in this he was just so great. I loved it, it was insane and the dream sequences were so funny. I like those kinds of comedies that are based on characters and long, building plots rather than quick gags and situational stuff. Not that there wasn't some of that in there too, but this movie actually had, you know, a real plot. A funny plot. My dislike for John Goodman's character hurt my enjoyment of the film a little but Julianne Moore was great and David Thewlis's cameo was hilarious. Best part of the movie for me, though, was Philip Seymour Hoffman. There was something really, really funny about his role in this. Fantastic.
For some reason it was nothing like I thought it'd be, but fortunately it was a lot better than the movie I made up in my head about the random green-nailed toe.

I am playing 6 degrees of separation on IMDb. It's incredible how many links you can get out of one show with only a small cast each episode. I'm looking through Supernatural and I'd somehow missed the fact that John Winchester is Sid from the Sliders episode 'El Sid', which is particularly pathetic as I only watched it a couple of months ago.
