Supernatural: So as not to break with this week's theme, I live for
spnnewsletter.
I hate Kristin Veitch, but this is the best video ever. Mike Rosenbaum crashes her interview with Jenny and Paddywhack. SO FREAKING HOT.
This Supernatural obsession has to abate soon because it's driving me nuts. I'm still in that new fandom stage where I can't stop thinking about it. Augh. I think it's because of the pretty. Jeff, Jen and Jared shouldn't be allowed to be that pretty. Also, I watched Home all the way through for probably the first time and now I think it might be my favourite episode. Dean's lost little boy phone call and Sam not knowing what to do and the closest thing we've had all season to a hug and DADDY JOHN at the end. They're so beautiful.
Harry Potter: Two pics I got from
grrliz - I think her journal is flocked, so click the links for the pics:
Possibly Young Sirius (basically anyone who isn't, you know, a
shoebox_project sketch isn't going to by my young!Sirius, but as long as he can act okay I'm fine with it.)
SNAKES ON A ROB.
On to Lost: Save Joop!
txvoodoo has the Hanso Foundation ad and Jimmy Kimmel's interview with Hugh McIntyre of the foundation here. Fucking weird, man.
Tonight I watched The Importance of Being Earnest.
I don't think there was a chance I wouldn't like this film - it's Oscar Wilde starring Rupert Everett and Judi Dench so I never stood a chance. I found the direction kind of confusing and the editing sloppy, and the whole time Rupert had the moustache he had so little movement in his face it was just funny. The movie didn't really pick up until he went to the country, but from then on it was funny and sharp. I also though the ironies of the ending were underplayed in favour of a sugary, Jane Austen-style ending that didn't quite sit right for me. Too much sweet, not enough Oscar Wilde bite.
Reese Witherspoon did a passable British accent, but she was pretty much wasted. I was also disappointed that all of Oscar Wilde's cleverest, funniest lines were sort of mumbled in passing and the focus was on a more visual representation. The acting was pretty uniformly good, though, and the scenery was lovely. There was also a DEFINITE homoerotic subtext to the Algie/Jack relationship that was played just right throughout the movie, I thought. I don't want to spoil the ending, so I can't go into too much detail - though I did work it out pretty much straight after the scene where the mystery was set up.
I give it 6/10.
Real life: My moodiness lately is driving me crazy, I'm up and down like a yoyo and so is my energy. I've been sick on and off for a month, too. I can't figure out whether it's a result of circumstances or whether my actions are a result of my moods/whatever is going on with my body. I don't like it, I feel uneasy.
