I was torn between Masi and Justin Kirk, but Masi was the reason I watched Heroes. Now I watch it because it's good all around, but he sold it to me. :D
Also, Sarah Paulson, please! Grey's Anatomy kinda annoys me now, and I like K.Heighl, but come on.
Finally, and I know I'm alone here, THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE!! Because I adore that show. It cracks me up.
Justin Kirk is so good on Weeds. I would love for him to win. But I think that category belongs to Piven. He's got the flashier role, you know? (Though Masi Oka is effing awesome on Heroes, and could totally take it).
Votiing on this was diffult because there are people I want to win, but not who I think will win. The Best Actress category was especially hard to decide on, because I like Evi on Lost this season, but I don't think she'll win, and as much as Meredith bugs people on Grey's, I think Ellen Pompeo does a really fantastic job in the role. But I don't think she'll win either.
There are many, many people that should have gotten nominated that haven't, from Grey's especially. Where's Chandra Wilson and Sandra Oh and Kate Walsh? They're all excellent on the show. And maybe better than Katherine Heigl, but didn't have to cry so much. Awards voters love to see tears. Of everyone on that show, Chandra Wilson deserves an award.
I just went for a combination of what I want to win and what I think will win. There's certain categories where I have to pick who I want because anything else feels like a betrayal.
I was surprised that, of all the supporting actresses on Grey's, Heigl got the nomination. The three you all mentioned are better, IMHO.
Justin Kirk is awesome in Weeds, but my heart belongs to Masi.
My coworker is pissed off at the K. Heigl nom b/c she was friends with her brother before he died and was Katherine's boss for a while and said she's a self-centered snotty brat who likes using people for her own gain. Not such a nice person.
The actress category is tough b/c I like Evie and all but I don't think there's as much of a need to really *act* with her part. She screams and runs, yadda yadda. I think Ellen Pompeo does a lot with a very narrow role where she doesn't get such massive things to react to.
I like Evi this season. There was a moment in the pilot when she told Sawyer that they made her wear the dress that showed me how far she's come since season 1, a very understated broken moment.
