I used to think that there was actually a second set of books published in which Harry and Hermione got their flirt on, because it's such an alien concept to the books I know and love.

And why can't we vote for Harry/Ginny, Ron/Herm, Lupin/Tonks at the same time ? This is the most useless poll ever. All the pairings we can chose off already happened, why should they change in the next book ? (except the Harry/Herm ones *lol*)

I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to be disrespectful to Harry/Hermione shippers in general. If you were to vote in that poll for who you actually think will hook up as opposed to who you want to hook up, who would it be? I prefer Sirius/Remus to Remus/Tonks but I would never vote for them in a poll asking who's going to end up together. *ponders* well, Sirius is dead, but that's beside the point.

I have no issue with pairing preferences, it's the people who insist Harry/Hermione is canon and send their book jackets back to JKR in protest that I'm referring to; that's why I said delusional Harmoanians rather than just Harry/Hermione shippers.

Until HBP I definitely could have seen H/Hr getting together, but I also don't deny that I also understand where R/Hr is coming from. Personal preference and my ability to relate to Harry and relate my ex to Hermione made me very confident that that pairing could have worked if JKR chose to do it. I also don't deny that I see the idea of forming a relationship with people who spend most of their time as not having a healthy foundation to their pairing.

I didn't like HBP, and it had nothing to do with the actual ships, just that the ships were given too much prevalence in the story at the expense of actual plot. I also could still see a way for H/Hr to happen in book 7, but anything could go in any direction. I don't read the books for the relationships, but if I were to vote I'd still say H/Hr. Not because it will happen, but because I feel they have the best foundation for a relationship based on my personal experience. Remus/Tonks will of course happen (and technically already has), but we didn't get to see any of the set up for that relationship. Same with Harry and Ginny. JKR has been working towards that from the start, but I don't feel she did it very well. There were chapters in HBP where Ginny wasn't even mentioned in passing, which strains credibility to me feeling Harry liked her. Honestly, even if he didn't realize he did like her, JKR could have added passing moments where he caught her eye, or saw her somewhere which would have kept her firmly in our minds as readers.

I definitely don't think H/Hr is canon. Technically, by what is given in the books, neither is R/Hr (even if it is inevitable in Book 7). *shrugs* I think if people like myself were to vote in that poll (which I didn't), I'd vote based on what makes the most sense to me, even if that isn't what the wording of the question is asking for.

Also, I imagine you didn't know my preference when you posted. Hahaha. Not that I mean it would have stopped you, but I bet you didn't expect it. XD No worries. I'm used to being lumped with the nutcases. *sigh*

Eh, I figured there'd probably be at least one Harry/Hermione shipper on my flist, but I used the Harmonian name on purpose to distinguish the real nutjobs from people who just like different pairings. Actually, I thought speakerwiggin would get on my case about it after I posted it. He always likes 'best friend' ships that I don't like, lol.

I think the best part of that poll is that Lupin/Tonks is just in there randomly. All the others have characters crossing over, at least, and then there's just surprise Lupin/Tonks.

I've never really understood the strong hatred/bewilderment/disdain there is for the Harry/Hermione pairing. It's a pairing just like any other. Is it any stranger than reading the books and thinking that Harry and Draco are doing it like bunnies? I answered that poll HHr, not because I actually think it WILL happen, but because I would LIKE it too. There's a difference between enjoying something and actually thinking it's there in canon. I'm not "delusional," thank you very much, just as Angel/Spike or Logan/Weevil shippers aren't delusional - it's just shipping.

I understand that there are crazy "Harmonians," yes. But I resent being lumped in with them.
