Interesting Whedonesque link to an essay about Inara - most of what I would've said about the essay is said in the comments.

Fandom Superlatives, but I arrived a little late in the game.

Mary GrandPre interview about the Deathly Hallows cover art.

There's a cute little video of Zach and Sendhil at a Maxim party here. Having been reading a lot about him and watching lots of interviews lately, I would be really surprised if Zach was straight. He's also ridiculously adorable. Even better than that clip, though, is this one of Masi BEATBOXING. AWESOME.

TV Guide's Emmy dream ballot. I would add Dom and Jensen, but hey, at least Masi's there and Foxy's not!

A few good LotR cast icons, which are hard to come by these days (aside from [Unknown site tag]'s), along with some Supernatural stuff.

Get To Know Your F-List Week!
Every day I'll ask two random questions. All you have to do is answer them!

Day Seven (last day!)
1. What's your favourite sick day movie?
2. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?

1. The Goonies. It isn't my favourite movie, but it requires the least effort, it's fun and it always makes me feel warm and fuzzy and happy. And if I've seen it recently, I can always just watch it with commentary for something different :)

2. I would totally be hanging with [livejournal.com profile] truffle_shuffle in LA.

Phantom of the opera

Rome

1. I'd say The Lion King. But I often watch TV shows instead, like Friends. To sum up: anything I know by heart so that I don't have to think too much.
2. hanging out with some friends, just being silly, that's what i'm best at

about TV Guide's dream ballot, I wish they'd put some BSG in there but oh well, sci-fi is always forgotten, right? ... *pouts*

Firefly essay! *saves for later*

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

LOL I was aiming for achievable goals. Buffy got, afaik, one 'serious' Emmy nomination in seven years (ie. for something other than the obvious sfx and makeup and technical stuff), and didn't win it, for the writing for Hush.

From: [identity profile] hobbitofkobol.livejournal.com

what can I say? I'm a dreamer! :p
(this is so unfair, BSG is no more geeky than Heroes for instance, tsst)

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] melissajane14 will disagree with you there. BSG is waaay geekier than Heroes, because superheroes are far more mainstream than anything set in space. People reject things because they have 'star' in the title. They're biased against scifi in spite of the fact that there's so much good stuff out there. It's really wrong.

From: [identity profile] melissajane14.livejournal.com

It just happens that Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek are boring, and Star Wars is kinda lame and aimed at 8 year old boys, which I have never been. Stargate puts me to sleep also. I think it is all of the darkness and lyrical shots of stars that make me think, oh, bedtime. I also find the belief in superheroes or a dystopian future more plausible than space travel, but for no good reason. I think it has to do with the realism of the world, because I quite like Firefly, which has terraformed planets and more earth-like frames of reference and dialogue and superhero shows are set on earth generally. Movies and tv set on ships travelling through space are just as dull as movies set on terrestrial ships, planes or trains.

I love the West Wing, which is probably nerdier than any other show, in terms of the assumed knowledge of the audience and the pace at which you are expected to keep up.

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Man, there's no way you can say BSG is boring after watching all of about ten minutes of it. That's not just without basis, it's an insult to the series, which is more interesting and better written than 90% of what's on television.

The West Wing may be nerdy, but it doesn't have the geek stigma attached if you watch it.

1. What's your favourite sick day movie? Hmmm... I'd say anything that's a musical (HSM, Rent etc.)
2. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be? Having fun with friends anywhere.

From: [identity profile] kry-86.livejournal.com

1.Probably Goonies and Ferris Bueller's Day Off

1. What's your favourite sick day movie? Chances Are is a really great sick day movie. I has Cybil Shepard and Robert Downey Jr. Not a great thinking movie, but fun and romantic.

2. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be? In Dallas with my fangirls just hanging out and much with the SQUEE.

1. LOTR, but that's because that's the only few DVD I own. :P I'd probably watch a lot of Discovery channel than watching a movie, however.

2. Just away from hometown with friends/family, get away from school.

From: [identity profile] stufsocker.livejournal.com

1. I haven't really had any sick day movies lately, but the ones from when I was a kid were as follows: Yellow Submarine, Into the Woods, Encino Man, whatever Disney movie was out then (Little Mermaid, Aladdin), and Oklahoma. I'm sure there were more but those are the ones popping out at me. I'm a closet sucker for musicals.

2. If I could be anywhere? *veg* I can't say without fear of incriminating myself. On a related note: OMG Masi adoreability! He did a better beatbox the first time he was on Conan, but that one still made my cheeks all warm and fuzzy. Alas, no YouTube available of that first one. :(

From: [identity profile] stufsocker.livejournal.com

OMG, Goonies and Roxanne and Ferris Beuler, too! how coud I forget?!

From: [identity profile] speakerwiggin.livejournal.com

1. I don't know why... but "O Brother Where Art Thou." I do no why "Galaxy Quest."

2. At home writing.

Does this include travelling through time? I would like to be back at comedy festival 2003. or, no, wait. at the backup bash so I can be in the right goddamn places at the right times. heh

From: [identity profile] melissajane14.livejournal.com

1. I tend to read books when I'm sick, but I'd have to say Zoolander

2. I like being where I am, actually, but failing that, London

From: [identity profile] crimson83.livejournal.com

I would also be surprised if he was straight. Glad to know I'm not the only one thinking this.

1. Bride and Prejudice. A Bollywood remake of the Jane Austin original. There's singing and bright costumes. I love it.

2. hmm... St. Louis. Just because.

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

I love Bride and Prejudice! Naveen ♥ it's such an awesome, fun movie.
