When you see this post, quote from Doctor Who (classic or new series) on your LJ.
Barefoot on the MOON! (from the only episode I've seen.)
I got up early and baked cookies today. Cookies! Mum had friends over for brunch, and then I took the remaining cookies to Mitchell's because he is sick.

They've recast Merrin Dungey's role on Private Practice. I liked her. *shrugs*
Old JKR quote about something that happens in Book 7, which will probably confirm quite a few suspicions.
New-old Paddywhack pics: In case of puppy emergency, break glass.
Icons: BSG, Doctor Who & Firefly (and Jimi Hendrix!), Supernatural, Harry Potter.
Tonight I saw American Beauty
I don't get the hype. I thought it was good, but not as good as I've heard that it was. I didn't connect with it, and it didn't make me feel or think much. I had the killer picked really early on, too. Am I just missing something? I had trouble caring what happened to any of the characters because they were all kind of awful, although Allison Janney's character was probably the one I felt sorriest for.
The acting was all spot-on. I know Kevin Spacey won the Oscar, but Annette Bening should've won one as well, she was absolutely incredible. I love the way she used her physicality, that thin brittle thing she has going on, to her advantage. Is it just me, or does Wes Bentley look like Sean Maher in this? The gay neighbours were adorable, too - yay Scott Bakula!
It was really gorgeously shot, and I like the way it moved. The narrative was good, very clever, and I like how the colours and music and movement became freer as Lester did, building to fever pitch at the end. The writing was clever, too, and even though I was sitting here by myself I laughed out loud a couple of times.
I thought it lagged in a couple of places, though, and I don't think I get that connection between awkwardness and beauty that the movie was flogging.

I'm ok with the recasting of Merrin Dungey's part. I've never particularly thought she was a good actress. I didn't like her on Alias until her character went "bad", and in everything else I've seen her in, I've been disappointed in her performances. Plus, I didn't buy Chris Lowell's character's attraction to her.

That would be awesome and then we would be caught up with our fandom and sci-fi cultural heritage.
BTW, I am being completely and utterly serious. Torchwood has totally sucked me into the Whoverse and I am throwing aside prejudices.
