Ugh. I couldn't get to sleep last night, and today I had to get up early for a work meeting (which went forever and was sort of uncomfortable). Then I had to go shopping (with Clare, Tom, Melissa, Erin, Helen, Helen's mother and my mother), which I hate (though I did find something to wear for my mother's Op Shop birthday party - it's a matching cream-coloured bow-tie & vest. I love it.) And THEN I went to the gym. Tonight I played chocolate Cluedo and watched Bride & Prejudice with Clare and [livejournal.com profile] melissajane14 and by the time I got into my bedroom at all of 11 pm I wanted to collapse on top of the bed and sleep. The dog protested and kicked me off.

MOAR MUSIC PLEASE! Does anyone have Respect by Aretha? And anything else that's good party music?

LOL Adrian Pasdar uploaded videos of Masi Oka doing 'Yatta!' in Time Square to YouTube. Nobody even notices, and some guy actually asks Masi to take a photo for him. It's pretty funny.

Hints about new Heroes villains. Really, they're just teasing us at this stage - it's hardly spoilers.

Ausiello interviews Kripke.
We are not turning into One Tree Hill with monsters — I swear. I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.
He really know how to put things delicately, doesn't he? Although I did like this:
Our fans are notoriously protective of our boys.
Comparisons between Buffy and Supernatural always get my hackles up.

There's a few genuinely amazing Hairspray graphics here - I like the banners.

Stephen King: J.K. Rowling's Ministry of Magic. The pre-release spoilers were cruel, man, I don't care what he says. Also, I feel like there's plenty of time now for critics to look critically at Harry Potter, and if he thinks blogs haven't been analysing language and plot in depth...man, he ain't reading the same blogs as me.
Dan Radcliffe talked about his reactions too. I think that's an old link. LINK! One-track mind? Nah, at least two.
(Speaking of which, I was playing games on my phone while 'watching' B&P tonight and at one point I put it down and went 'Boytouching coming up, ready? Now.' Melissa laughed at me. I can't help it if I like the boytouching!)

ETA: Yeah, there were four coding mistakes the first time I typed this out. I am TIRED.

Here is Respect but it's from the Blues Brothers 2000 soundtrack, not the original version (she ends it saying something like "Elwood, you ain't no good!"). So if someone else has a better version, go with that.

I have a couple of compilations of "Party songs" but I think you probably have most of them already. I'll zip them up and put them on sendspace.

Instant Party Disc includes songs: Tequila, Rock This Town, Mickey, Shout, YMCA, Whip It, That's the Way (I Like It), and Hot, Hot, Hot.

Millenium Party Volume 5 includes the songs: Rock Lobster, Take On Me, Come On Eileen, Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), I Ran (So Far Away), Love Plus One, Our House, The Safety Dance, Just What I Needed, In the Name of Love, She Blinded Me With Science, Rock This Town, Tainted Love, I Melt With You, Cars, I Want Candy, Valley Girl and Everybody Have Fun Tonight
(Can you tell that I was a teen in the 80s?)

I have a couple with 50s era oldies too, if you want, but don't have time to do the uploading right now. Let me know if you're interested.
