My Serenity Collector's DVD shipped today according to Amazon! I am so excited :D

Not sop exciting is the fact that father's day is coming up here, and I'm not entirely convinced I want to have to deal with father's day right now. Whenever I see an ad for something they're selling that would be PERFECT for AWESOME DADS I just end up wanting to throw things at the television. (I've only ever ACTUALLY thrown anything at the television once, for anyone wondering, and it was during an anti-gay marriage commercial.) On the other hand, I am not looking to cut him out of my life entirely. We'll see.

Ianto is my favourite part of Torchwood. Tonight they had that plane-through-the-rift thing and watching Ianto deal with the 50's people in the supermarket was my favourite part of the episode. I also loved him just handing Jack his coat resignedly later. Also, I now think Gwen Cooper is smoking hot and keep thinking in a Welsh accent. I think the show's making me regress to primary school. I also think of all their names as Gwen says them.

James McAvoy for Scotty in the new Star Trek?

Ausiello interview Kristen Bell.

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] seewhoiam posted a bunch of icons here including My Chemical Romance, Torchwood, Lost and High School Musical. They made me very happy.

[livejournal.com profile] patsie posted a brand new Dom photoshoot for us all to enjoy :D I'm hoping it'll come out hires and untagged soon, but until then there's plenty to enjoy there. It's got a really old school Dom sensibility to it, even if it's showing his age a bit (SO not a problem, because he looks awesome.)

Tonight I saw Live Free or Die Hard

I refuse to call it by its idiotic Australian name of 'Die Hard 4.0'. Anyway, solid action flick with some FANTASTIC stunts and great one-liners (and hardass John McClane is always awesome) but it didn't have that fantastic contained, claustrophobic feeling of the others and the whole national security thing kinda threw me. It's just not McClane's thing. Justin Long was beyond adorable in it.

6 out of 10 (but for the action, 9/10.)

And, because I forgot to review them as I saw them, In the Company of Actors

This was a cute little documentary, and I don't know whether my enjoyment of it was tainted by the fact that I've seen a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff about plays and movies before or whether this was actually the case, but I don't know how informative it is. It seems more like a self-indulgent exercise. I really like Andrew Upton now, though, and Cate Blanchett and Hugo Weaving are always good value.

Personal Velocity

I honestly only watched this because I didn't want to leave the new chairs. I know, pathetic. This is one of those indie women's lib movies, shot in documentary style with an irritating voice-over, and the women's lives are sort of interesting but didn't really engage me. The actresses are all really good (although Fairuza Balk still kinda creeps me out) but the movie didn't do anything for me. It didn't have any humour to it, and it seemed to experiment for the sake of experimentation.

Yay, DVD!

Ianto is always picking up Jack's coat. I think it's cute. And he's always doing it. Haha.

Damnit, James. I don't want to watch Star Trek. I hate it.

Wow, Dom looks young and skinny there.

Never thought about it before but... yeah, I can see that.

I saw a few icons of Allison Janney crying and she actually cries like Alyson Hannigan. That's when I saw it.

Ugh, I am so pissed that Serenity came out with a new edition. I wish I had known that before I bought my copy of the DVD!

Ok, okay... so we have "Silar" from Heroes, and James McAvoy... can we just continue to cast the show with hotties? If so - who would Dom, Billy and Elijah play???

"James McAvoy for Scotty in the new Star Trek?"

BWAH? Now, don't get me wrong, I adore McAvoy, but... huh? Are they going to be in an alternate universe where Scotty is uber young and thin or are they just recasting Star Trek? I guess it would make sense if I knew what the movie was about.

They're doing a prequel, it's set before the series. That's why they're casting young.

... Now why didn't I think of that? That makes sense! I wonder whose going to play young versions of everyone else! *hee*
