They already asked him to play Dumbledore when Richard Harris died, but he turned down the offer because he didn't want to be knownn for playing famous old wizards for the rest of his life.

Aw, come on, didn't we always know that Dumbledore had to be gay? The way he was always crying and carrying on about how love is the most deep and important kind of magic. How many straight guys do you know who talk like that, really? I think it's pretty cool that JKR just came out with it like that, though. :)
