Erm, I'm gonna be pretty AWOL for the next couple of days what with MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE OMG! tomorrow night and then the party on Saturday night and the running around and the preparing and whatnot. Photos of myself as Tracy Turnblad and various friends in costumes will be posted shortly after the party, but in the meantime, Mitchell won the grand final of Karaoke at Cube tonight! Yay Mitchell!! He won a couple hundred dollars' worth of surf stuff (the idea of Mitchell on a surfboard is...mostly just kinda funny) and $200 cash. Also, Bea and I sang 'Wherever, Whenever' by Shakira. I just wanted to do it for the classic breasts line, but holy crap, that is possibly the worst-written song EVER. The lyrics make NO sense.

I've always comforted myself with the logic that it must make more sense in Spanish & that it lost its beauty in translation... happens to a lot of songs, who's to say it didn't happen to this one?

The Spanish version of "Objection (Tango)" refers at one point to the Mona Lisa, while the English one doesn't... & one of the most offensive curses in Spanish literally translates to "Go to the tip of the hills". So, I'm claiming it's a translation issue. Now if only I could work similar logic for some other artists...
