This game is really fun if you're a word nerd like me and are bored...like I was today:

Stolen from someone cooler than me who stole it from cooler people than her, so I'm way down on the cool chain:

Comment here and ask me ANYTHING about any fandom I'm involved in/have been involved in. Controversial or innocent, silly or serious, ask and you'll get my honest opinion on the subject [to the best of my knowledge/ability].

Ooh, that game is fun!

Er.... What is your favorite episode from your 5 favorite shows and why? I was gonna go with just the fave ep from fave show, but you answered that during that last tv meme. :D If you feel like elaborating on why it's Ariel, though, please feel free to. ^^

Sadly, I think if it was my top 5 favourite episodes of television, I think they would all be from Joss Whedon shows. Nobody makes them like he does.

1. Firefly - Ariel

Image

I don't really have a good reason for why Ariel's my favourite. I just think it's gorgeous. I love the contrast it creates between the world we've been in up until now, this outer rim-Western world where they shoot people and steal to get by, and the antiseptically clean Alliance/core planet world bathed in blue where they don't even notice missing medicine. It also shows us what we're up against, and everybody gets to do what they do best: Simon's smart, River's crazy, Mal's a leader, Zoe's efficient, Wash is cheeky, Kaylee is cute, and Jayne is untrustworthy.

2. Buffy - The Zeppo

Image

Admittedly, this is in fact a lie; I like The Body, Once More With Feeling, and Conversations with Dead People at least as much, but what can I say about them that hasn't already been said? The Zeppo is a totally underrated episode, because it's brilliant. I love how Xander is off saving Sunnydale while everybody else is going about the highly melodramatic business of their usual world-saving, and how gloriously idiotic they sound when they're saying things we'd usually be caught up in when seeing it from this other perspective. I like seeing Xander find himself as a man. Also, I love Xander and Oz's conversation about what it takes to be cool.

3. Lost - Live Together, Die Alone

Image

I usually don't go for the big episodes, but this is an awesome episode of television. I think some people like the other two finales better, but season 3's pissed me off except for Charlie and the Big Reveal at the end, and season 1's was good but nowhere near as earth-shaking (literally). Hanging it on HIC was risky and it paid off beautifully; his story kind of brought the whole of season 2 together and then turned it on its head magnificently.

4. Supernatural - Nightshifter

Image

I prefer Heroes to Supernatural, but I couldn't pick an episode of Heroes (if I had to, probably Company Man) and Nightshifter is a near-flawless episode of television. I love this episode so much, and I hold on to it as an example of what Supernatural COULD be if it wanted to. I love the handheld camerawork in the bank to make the situation feel real, how the tone shifts from comedic at the start to deadly serious and how the boys pull that off. I love the use of music and the fact that it had both an episode arc with the shifter and was still part of the larger story, what with Henrickson and Sam's guilt complex. And I LOVE that final scene playing to Renegade.

5. Veronica Mars - Debasement Tapes

Image

I don't care what anyone says about season 3 being lacklustre or if there are supposedly better episodes, this one has shitloads of Piz and Paul Rudd being Desmond Fellows and the Disapproving Mom Stance, and I could watch it every day and never get sick of it. I LOVE Piz.

what do I REALLY think about Jensen Ackles' wonky eye?

Okay, so stupid questions: He has a wonky eye?

Who is the hottest character in Heroes and what scene/episode are they hottest in?

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Yeah, I never noticed but apparently he does. I deleted that from the question.

Bah. I don't know! I think so many of them are hot :S I mean, Sendhil is hot but his character is such an idiot; Nathan has gotten incredibly sexy this season, but so has Parkman; I would go for Hiro in an instant but I've never found him 'hot' exactly.

Admittedly, I have a thing for Peter in the bloody white shirt with the emo fringe in Fallout; the way they shot him is just beautiful. Let's go with that.

Okay, I know this is a really evil question to ask, but: who is your all-time favourite TV character ever?

Okay, if that's too hard (I know it is for me), your top 5 favourite TV characters.

PIZ! I love Piz so much.

Top five: Stosh Piznarski, Zoe Washburne, Tara Maclay, Brian Kinney and Hiro Nakamura.
