Well, that was...pretty gross.

SUPERNATURAL

Oh good, negative witch stereotypes will be fun. Ooh, car in the raaaain.

Oh ew. Ew ew ew. I can't even watch this. Why bugs?

LOL 'every rose has its thorns', nice. And now 'I put a spell on you.' Subtle! We're like 10 minutes in and this is only the second time the boys have appeared. So this girl was just a regular bunny-boiler then. LOL Dean told the same joke as me. I like the 'Yeah, sure, my name is' *hangs up phone*.

Book club = coven, then? This is so much like that dodgy teen movie with Neve Campbell and Fairuza Balk in it. This fantasy football/baseball thing, I'd never heard of it before Knocked Up and now it's everywhere. Book of Shadows, eh? That's new. Different. This show is so middle-American.

Where's Detective Overdrive? That blond woman is the biggest overactor, it's really irritating.

Wait, Martha Stewart isn't a devil-worshipper? More of Sammy going dark-side, then. Oh. Ruby. This can only end well. She's totally playing them. Is she actually controlling Sam at this point? That was a weird freak-out.

LOL 'It's just what you're supposed to do, okay!' Poor Dean.

Uh, ok. Dark Side!Sammy is kinda really hot.

More gross. LOL shortbus. Dude, fishlips is hardcore. So THAT'S how The Secret works! Who wants to bet Dean wanted the hot demon girls to make out?

I'll never understand why the demons and ghosts in this show always have such electronic sounds and movements to them. They've been around for centuries, why do they sound like electricity when they die and go all pixelated when they move?

LOL Conquistador Motel. Well, no, John managed not to become a demon. He got out. It's probably a Winchester thing, I imagine. Still feel like Ruby's lying.

Is this old-school Torchwood? Oh it is! I'm so smart.

TORCHWOOD

Good music over the Tosh scene. She gets a lot of the time-travel episodes doesn't she?

LOL Ianto's reaction after 'could murder a cuppa tea.' Tosh is pretty when she smiles.

Gwen 'got any more of those pretty boys in the freezer?' Drinks, film, pizza - sounds like a date to me. NOBODY'S PERFECT.

Nothing changes. I suppose it's a job requirement: must be attractive to work at Torchwood.

Courted, aww. He's adorable.

Gwen's reaction to the ghost surprised me. You'd think she'd've toughened up a little bit. Tosh and Tommy are so cutely doomed. I'm tired of these one-episode love story arcs. Tosh already had one, though Tommy seems a bit nicer than the admittedly attractive alien girl.

Why does Jack get happy singing ghosts and Gwen get flickering lights and creepy ghost-seeing screamer?

Thanks. Poor things. Can't even manage some sex like Owen and his pilot.

That...paper thing didn't make any sense. Worst metaphor EVER. Tosh's defrosted men fetish. Owen is way too nice this season, it's sort of creepy. I also like the future heroine of the empire.

Dodgy effects on the time-lock. Jack's a good speed-reader of curly handwriting. A...stitch in time, eh? Aww, don't be sad, Tommy, Ianto puts out too.

Yeah, no chance of Tosh getting hurt on this one.

SUCH PRETTY BOYS MAKING OUT. SUCH PRETTY, PRETTY KISSING BOYS. AUGH. I wish they had Jack/Ianto kissage EVERY WEEK.

Poor things. Uh, again. An episode of Torchwood is longer than US shows.

Aaand there it is. Okay, this plot is just stupid. They should've just let Tommy use the damn key.

Rhys gets to do something next week? Colour me surprised.

I can't get over the fact that the one demon girl is in the Backstreet Boys, "As Long As You Love Me" video. Or that I recognized her from that. Or that I knew she had to be evil since she was AJ's girl...

Fantasy Football / Baseball is a big thing here! Especially in the midwest, almost every guy I know has a fantasy team.

:O OMG! I totally did not recognize her! I fail as a BSB fan

Even though it was largely a rehash of "Out of Time" I think you could make a case that "To the Last Man" was the best episode Torchwood has done so far. This was (I hope) what the creators had in mind with the team dynamic -- people who are passionate and sexual but don't let their sexuality distort their judgment. Toshiko had a quick "no, I won't risk my boyfriend's life just to save the universe" snit, got it out of her system, and then buckled down to the painful but necessary task of saving... well, everything.

The show still has a long way to go, but for the first time in a long time I feel like it's heading in the right direction. The ending was still too maudlin, but hey - baby steps.

I guess it depends on what you're looking for. Like I said, the 'romance of the week' thing irritates me, but I liked a lot of the other aspects. I like that the end of episodes aren't all sugar-coated (though it'd be nice to have a happy ending once in a while.)

As far as Torchwood goes, I was most excited that Tommy was played by Anthony Lewis (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0506931/)! XD
