I honestly think that the opening scene of season 2 of Torchwood is one of the best opening scenes of any season of TV I've ever seen, we need to kill the CW logo department, and is it wrong that I kinda want a Faraday icon? I realise that sentence mixes fandoms, but I didn't feel like making separate dot points.
Does anyone else just skip every TMI LJ cut assuming it's about periods? Am I a bad person for doing this?
Why have I not heard of The Ianto Show? This girl is awesomecakes with awesomesauce!!!
TAHMOOOOH...will be at DragonCon. Gareth David-Lloyd needs to go to another con so I can know about it and send an envoy.

I had over 40 comments for this meme, and I've been trying to think of how to go about posting the results. I'm just posting the answers, you'll know if you got them right or not; top scores will also be posted. Also, if you commented, the comments are now unscreened. Sorry, everybody else. Thanks for playing, it was fun!

Today I sawThere Will Be Blood
I don't get it. I do, at least, know I was watching the same film that I've been reading insanely glowing reviews of - I saw all the shots and heard all the music I'd been reading about, I just didn't get the appeal. Yes, strong performance from Daniel Day-Lewis (and the completely remarkable Paul Dano, who is being unfairly overlooked - how he didn't get an Oscar nom for supporting I don't know.) My shoulders are still sore from being set on edge for what seemed like hours. That overloud, overbearing score was like nails on a chalkboard, and while I see the allegory, I felt like the film was just trying too hard. A really great film shouldn't feel like you're being dragged through it. The editing was strangely handled, too. There were a few scenes that I thought were genuinely outstanding (mostly when Dano and Day-Lewis were together, although I also liked the gorgeous burning of the oil well and the HW story) but I found a lot of it just...boring. I see a lot of parallels to 2001: A Space Odyssey, actually, and was equally bored; it wasn't boring enough to tune out, because the story was good when it was moving, but the characters were unlikeable (HW excepted, of course) and there were long scenes that I just didn't care about. The not-brother storyline felt like an unnecessary diversion, just to show us what Plainview was capable of; I'd have preferred it if that segment was removed and the movie was tightened up. I have the patience to sit through long movies, but they can't feel long. This felt like a day out of my life. I don't even feel, at the end of the day, like I learned or felt anything; I can't remember huge portions of the film. I just feel sore.
I need a massage.

WORD. The CW logo is already a pain in the ass but the CW logo + the PCD ad = too much! Well at least that stupid show starts tomorrow which means we don't have to see the ad again but I am pretty sure The CW will think of something else.
