BSG AND TORCHWOOD SOON OMG.

I got two 'thanks but no thanks' emails from jobs I actually wanted today. One of them was filled by someone already working there, which was fine, but I know I could've done the other. I also spent about 3 hours driving around, which is longer than I spent actually at work out of my car. And I can't access my e-mail at all, but Squishy can, and that's not a good sign.

Olivia Williams cast as Adele DeWitt in Dollhouse! Finally, a cast member with an easily spelt and pronounced name. However, Ausiello lost serious points in my book for saying he'd 'never heard of her' (he was wrong, but still) and the other site loses points for naming 'X-Men: The Last Stand' as her outstanding achievement. I don't know how anyone could forget her in 'The Sixth Sense.' In my head she's always Chaucer's naked with in the 'A Knight's Tale' deleted scene. The deleted scenes for that movie are better than the movie itself, I swear.

N'awww! Zaphod Beeblebrox teddies! They're so disturbingly adorable. Or...adorably disturbing?

UK Elijah Wood fans needed for a TV taping.

Cute interview with Jane Espenson, whom, I have to say, I wouldn't mind being.

Casting spoilers for upcoming Supernatural episode that are very exciting :D

Best cancelled shows. I really want to see Farscape.

Heroes Volume 3 premieres September 15th.

Two Harry Potter notes: I love how much JKR loves Evanna as Luna (I love her too, but the title of that one is redundant) and two more characters cast for HBP. The first one is...worrying. Are they bumping Regulus's story arc up to HBP? Why? They cut out all the good flashbacks, what's the point in moving that one around?! Unless he is mentioned and I've just forgotten? That kid totally looks like Regulus, though. The second is just...whatever, who cares. While, aside from Mr. Bennison, his family and his agent, I imagine.

Just because I think it's awesome: Baltar's Hair Timeline. While I'm at it, Tricia Helfer interview where she gives the fans some kudos, which is sweet.

There's another
I think Gaeta is probably the single most likely suspect for the last Cylon, given his attachment to Gaius and the way he's been so involved in the resistance and such. Baltar telling him he knew his secret is too big a giveaway, though, and I feel like that'd be too easy a way out.

Tonight I saw Away From Her

I have to admit, I mostly saw this out of a kind of wayward feminist solidarity because I've been into female directors lately and Sarah Polley (from Go) directed this. Also, because Julie Christie is still a fox.

Julie Christie is still a fox, and Sarah Polley is a damn fine director. I think with a bit more maturity she could really go places, because the only problem I had with this film was that it occasionally relied a little too heavily on indie-uni-art-film technique to get its message across (one too many shots of people walking down the same hallway, thanks.) The performances were outstanding, creating a really bittersweet portrait of love and loss and what it really means to share your life with someone. Julie Christie is killer. The characters were so well fleshed out, and given real stories that made them seem like they'd been alive for so many years. I thought the nurse at the care facility was particularly good. Polley gets some unexpected moments of humour out of human behaviour that are charming, too, and you feel like she has a real grasp of how people interact and the humour and beauty in everyday minutiae. She also has an eye for a really striking visual, and the snowfield and the woods behind it are a perfect backdrop to the story.
I think the movie ran a tiny bit long and it could've done without the Olympia Dukakis storyline, but otherwise it was amazing.

You haven't watched Farscape yet? I highly recommend it :D

I vote for disturbingly adorable :)

I'll have to reread it, but I think the only Regulus moment in HBP is when Harry reads the RAB note - and, of course, he has no idea it's him then. Maybe they're pulling a Shelob?

I'm just now getting into Farscape. Jim loved it from the start but I didn't watch it then. So we're trugging through the DVDs and I'm absolutley in love with the series.

Sorry about the jobs, I know it really sucks. I kept going for interview after interview, sending in my resume and never getting anything. Sometimes I'd get the "while you are of high standard... blah blah".

If you want, I'm downloading Farscape at the moment (seasons 1 & 2, eventually I'll get to the rest). It's taking sometime to download since each season is about 9GB--but I'd be more than happy to burn you a copy on DVD :D
