So, to have a bit of a rant about the most recent episode of Supernatural. As Kripke said before it aired, a lot of people loved it, a lot hated it. It didn't rate very well. Even if I hadn't loved it (and I did like it a lot, the style of it wasn't the thing that bugged me, and even that I'm still processing.) We're pretty much guaranteed a next season at this point, which means that they had liscence to do something experimental and different and see where it took them. Shows should have the freedom to not do so well some weeks in order to try new things, otherwise it gets stale and boring. I mean, how much apprehension was there when Joss wanted to do a musical episode of Buffy? Not that Ghostfacers was on anywhere near on that level, but I'd rather have a dip in ratings one week to a boring, stale show with nothing new to offer.

More info on Nathan's pilot 'Castle'. I'm not overly thrilled at the concept, but hey, Fillion is Fillion.
