The Half-Blood Prince teaser trailer is up! I have to admit, it's WAY better than I thought it would be. Focussing on the memory of young Tom Riddle was a brilliant, creepy and tantalising way to go, especially since they don't seem to have changed too much, and I liked the flash of Ron being poisoned (what's going on in the Ginny and Harry-running-through-grass bits? Am I not remembering something?) Hero does an awesome job.

Yup, that was pretty cool. Did Dumbledore's suit seem very purple to you, though? I feel the purpleness is crucial here.

As with most clothing issues, the purpleness of Dumbledore's suit worries me less than other things.

Ooh that's an awesome trailer. I really like the feel of it this time. I think it would intrigue even the non Harry Potter fan.

It really looks a lot better than I had expected. I have no idea what the grassy running bit is, either. Hm. But the Tom Riddle bits looked really very cool.

your icon ♥

I didn't get the grass running and the hogwarts train in the beginning. Was that ... a desert or yellow grass or HUH ?

Young!tom is so creepy wtf

Apparently they've added a 'fight scene' in the back garden of The Burrow during... Christmas? I'm not sure, the news was slipped ages ago and I think I tried to block it's uncanonness haha. Anyway, it's going to be the first time we see Fenrir Greyback I believe.

Yeah, I know. The Burrow gets attacked during Christmas. But the TRAILER looks good...

Indeed, I was referring to this part of your post btw: (what's going on in the Ginny and Harry-running-through-grass bits? Am I not remembering something?) not going off on a random tangent xD

Yea, I agree with Trish. His suit's supposed to be purple and his hair's supposed to be red. DARN YOU, PRODUCERS!!!!

As I've read, some characters I pictured with my mind's eye have remained the way I imagined them before the movies and some have changed to be the actors (McGonagall for one). I feel like they're always trying to tone down the "different" aspects of the characters, like the suit and robes and putting wizards into muggle clothing when really that's not at all how they are in the book. It's those over-the-top quirks that added a lot of the flavor to scenes that do take place in the muggle world. So sad. Oh well.

It goes against current filmmaking philosophy, which is all GO REAL AND GO DARK - see Batman, for instance.

Apparently, Evanna Lynch is so much like Luna that even JKR hears her voice for Luna now.

Wow, thanks for the link, the trailer looks awesome! And while young Tom Riddle was appropriately menacing and creepy I found myself going "Aww, he's a cute little one!" Which is not the desired reaction, I think.

Dumbledore doesn't seem to be wearing his plum suit (boo!) but he does have a cute, patterned scarf which redeems the outfit, I think.
