It was just pointed out to me that there is no S.P.E.W in the Harry Potter movies, which will completely destroy the Ron/Hermione kiss in DH. I call conspiracy on the part of Steve Kloves and...his conspirators. I was already unhappy about the lack of interest in elf welfare, but now I'm PISSED.

Well phooey. I hadn't thought of that. Dammit, Kloves.

The lack of S.P.E.W. bothered me even before DH came out, I hate how many things they left out in the 4th movie.

I can't remember DH, how does the lack of S.P.E.W. ruin it?

In the scene in the book, Hogwarts is under siege and Ron shows concern for the house-elves, which causes Hermione to realise he's actually been listening to her and he kisses her. I know they can still write it that way, but without the weight of years of S.P.E.W behind it there won't be any weight to it, and it just won't be right if they cange it.

It had bothered me that they left it out, but... GAH! I hadn't actually thought of that. What the hell!

They'll probably write in another stupid, less satisfying way for Hermione to kiss Ron. *sigh*

ughhhh I hadn't thought of that!

Steve Kloves I hate you

From: [identity profile] trishpip.livejournal.com

The way Kloves has been writing this anyway, it seems to me he means for Hermione to wind up with Harry, JKR be damned.

That is one of my main complaints about the HP movies; they take out these so called unecessary sub-plots and leave them to die. without realizing they lead to all the important stuff.

I to blame Steve Cloves and his Weasley hating ways.

and what about Bill?

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Apparently they're having Fenrir attack Arthur instead. DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER.

From: [identity profile] blue-fears12.livejournal.com

I just thought of something, waht are they going to put in place of Fleur and Bill's wedding? If anything at all?!

I really hate all the SPEW stuff, but you're right. Well, I hate Kloves more so there. I wish fans could rally or something and demand a better writer, man. He's butchered the series with his own opinions about the books. I mean superhero!Hermione is so not canon. HE pisses me off.

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

I rather like the idea of it. It's just Hermione wanting to do the right thing but going way too far, which is in character, unlike Kloves's PERFECT HERMIONE and her idiot friend Ron who just falls over a lot and pulls scared faces. *sigh* he's going to have a FIELD DAY with Ron leaving in book 7. AND goofy Ron/Lavender stuff in book 6.

THIS is what happens when people cut out random stuff without seeing how it relates to the story! Grrr.... Not impressed!

From: [identity profile] truffle-shuffle.livejournal.com

It'll just be another time where Hermione is SuperAWESOME!Hermione and she just kisses him out of nowhere or something. Out of "We could die" fear and she'll get Ron's "it's now or never" line.

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

I think he'll trip and fall on her lips and then she'll cast longing glances at Harry. Makes sense, the way Kloves writes the movies. *headdesk*

Yeah, I totally thought of that the other day (after someone pointed it out on ONTD)
