melissajane14 and I went to Film Group trivia night tonight, were put at a random table...and won! Woohoo! We won a bottle of wine each plus some other bits and pieces, and Melissa won a year's subscription to Empire which she's TOTALLY sharing with me *nods*. Also, we're going away with some of my family next weekend, which is a long weekend.

Today I met another friend of mine for coffee, and about 10 minutes after I met with him, while we were deciding where to go, he just...left and went home. No warning. He just went 'I'm going home' and left. I just went and visited baldie_troll at work, but really, who does that? Ugh.

Could this year be the end of science fiction on TV? Short answer: no. Long answer: science fiction has booms and lags, like most genres, but it will never totally go out of fashion as long as there are geeks like us out here wanting to see it, and geeks like JJ and Joss wanting to make it. I mean that in the fondest sense, of course.

JUST found this out as I was finishing off the post: it is officially the worst year for celebrities ever, because Paul Newman has passed away. My heart just broke a little.

Ugh. I hate when celebrities that I love die. I feel so sad, but rationally know I shouldn't feel anything for someone I've never known. My point: I'm so, so, so sad right now. Paul Newman was an AMAZING person and actor.

That's what I thought the veil was too, pretty much. I noticed the 'veil' comment in DH which made me think that's what it was even more.

And I think Rupert is hot too!

It's the same as when we feel happy for them if something good happens, though. Also, someone who contributed to our lives in some way has been taken from us, and won't contribute again. It's very sad.

I thought the kids with the closest relationship with death would be able to hear the voices, though, kind of like with Thestrals, rather than it being a 'faith' thing.
