8 Best Picture Oscar favourites this year. I want to see nearly all of them.
Why are there no openly gay leading men in Hollywood? Because nobody appreciates Neil Patrick Harris! This line, though:

List of upcoming sci-fi sequels/remakes. I would really enjoy a Logan's Run remake, I think.

*dies laughing* Twilight fan loses her shit when faced with RPattz, Taylor Lautner, and the Vampire Volvo of Justice. Also, they are now asking Daniel Radcliffe about Twilight, which I think is kinda nuts. He's Harry freakin' Potter! With an ugly beard...

Today I saw Kaabee
I know people are complaining about 'Australia' being long. I can't compare the two yet, and I know 'Australia' is longer in terms of actual length, but this movie was fucking long. It was 2 1/2 hours of the minutiae of everyday life during the second world war for this Japanese family whose father was arrested for thought crimes. Then, suddenly, at the end of the movie, we skip forward three years, then to the present, and the whole cinema was crying and I was feeling like I'd missed something. It was certainly a sad, downbeat movie, but not one that had me even a little choked up. I don't often cry in movies, but this one didn't really get me even halfway there. It was gorgeously shot and most of the performances were beautiful and subtle, particularly the mother. I felt like the Yama character was kind of a caricature amongst much better performances, though.

I uploaded these for icon presents, but I figured I'd just give my whole flist a Frere Piemaker hug today, because the first time I saw this scene it made me flap my hands and flail like a child.
