No real post tonight, I just want to review this while it's in my head: Quantum of Solace

Two things that cracked me up:
1. Who the hell was getting fancy with the fonts? Seriously, it ended up that melissajane14 and I were laughing our asses off every time Bond went to a new location.
2. Dominic Greene fights and screams like a girl. I was CRYING laughing at that fight, which is mean, but seriously. The fight between Olga Kurylenko and the general was so much more satisfying, until she turned into an emotional wreck at the end of it.

Other than that, I liked this one more than I like Casino Royale. The car/plane/boat/foot chases were kick-ass and I much preferred (lol) Strawberry Fields and Camille to Vesper Lind. I never really liked her. Plus there was some hoyay with Mathis. I kinda thought Bond was more bad-ass in this one, too. There was a real character arc there. I did think Dominic Greene made for a kind of deeply boring bad guy (and why did all the bad guys have such terrible hair?) but there was enough going on with the good guys that I didn't care, and I can see him as just a cog in a bigger wheel. I LOVED the scene at the opera. I've heard complaints about the plot but I found it enjoyable and easy to follow. I just wish that they'd hold the fucking camera still every once in a while during a fight scene so I could follow the action.

This puts me at 88 movies for 2008. I need to see 12 before the month is out.

Also, my little buddy Travis, who is 16 and worked with me until he moved up to Brisbane a few months ago, has come back! I am happy. He brightens up my day.

I don't much like Eva Green anyway, but I found Vesper...boring. At best.

I think the guy in charge of titles has been watching Heroes and Fringe and stole their location title templates.

Heroes has a font they use for pretty much everything, though, don't they? This person used a different font FOR EVERY LOCATION. In different colours! With different effects!
