Apparently I have my cranky pants on today. Also, my thumb is itchy and I don't know why.

To the Kuzuis: Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Talk of - I kid you not - a 'Buffy' reboot. To copy/paste from what I said in truffle_shuffle"s post on the matter:
There's only a million things wrong with this idea, and comparing it to Star Trek is just INSULTING. How is that even comparable when Buffy has only been off the air 6 years? If it were closer to 30 years, then maybe. Maybe. And only if those fuckwads the Kuzuis had NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.
Meanwhile, here's the Whedonesque post if you want to talk about it. The basic idea seems to be relaunching with just Buffy the character, and nothing from the show. So...the original movie 'relaunched'. Have they SEEN the original movie? Star Trek had all the original characters, a storyline that made the new franchise work, a damn good team behind it, and...oh, yeah, Gene Roddenberry is no longer with us.

Seriously? Are you kidding me with this shit? Comparing Doyle to Suzie?! The other ones are bad, but DOYLE AND SUZIE? GTFO.

In order to reposition himself as a loser after temporarily being awesome enough to mention Muhney on his blog, Perez Hilton has a hissy fit because Fierce Adam refuses to actually say he's gay. His loyal followers all attack him in the comments, it's well worth reading.

There was a horrible snarky article about Dollhouse that made disparaging comments about Joss linked recently on Whedonesque, and I was going to bitch about it now as I'm on a roll, but I've lost the link. Oh well.

Comparing Doyle to Suzie?!
Erm, excuse me? *prepares big pointed stick* So, they're comparing this sweet, dorky guy who sacrificed himself to save others, dying as the episode's titular hero, with the conniving bitch who murdered and brainwashed to achieve her own ends and who nearly sucked the life out of Gwen? I wonder what drugs those guys have been taking.

Still, it's hard to take seriously someone who clearly has never watched the show - if they did, they would know that Gwyneth is not Gwen's ancestor. The reason for the two characters to look so alike was explained onscreen when Gwen appeared in Doctor Who, and blood ties are not part of it (however, I have to admit I found it a lame excuse).

As The Character You Thought Was Important But Surprise! They Died. DOYLE WAS DAMNED IMPORTANT, OKAY? And aside from just a few Cordy/Gwen and Angel/Jack similarities (and more because they're similar types of characters rather than actually similar in their personalities) I don't see it at all. Torchwood and Angel are so completely different.

Oh, also, pet peeve: spelling 'canon' wrong.

Perez is a douche. I agree with most of the comments: he needs to lay off people and stop trying to force them to come out just because he says so. I mean, who the fuck is he anyway?

I love Simon Pegg SO MUCH.

I'd read the Angel/Torchwood comparison but I haven't finished Torchwood yet and I don't want to be spoiled. Also, it doesn't seem worth reading based on your reaction.

Who says people should have to come out to the public anyway? I mean, if they do and they want to make a point, good on them. If they've got no interest in making that kind of a statement, that should be entirely up to them. I think my favourite comment was a quote someone posted that said "I didn't know there was any speculation that Adam was straight." Why should he have to say it? To satisfy the public's curiosity?

Yeah, it has spoilers. You have to finish it! I found the Wesley/Ianto comparison irritating too.

That PH post and subsequent comments are interesting. I think PH is having a hard time in the new world where people don't self-identify FIRST as queer. He's a fossil. Times have changed. It would be interesting if the reason Adam is refusing to discuss this is that he's bi and just as afraid of the gays as the crazed anti-gays.

After Nimoy I watched Zac and Chris on Letterman.

OMFG! Zac speaking Italian, nearly melted off my chair, then Chriiiiiiiiisssss *thunk*

Also there are embarrassing photos where Chris's big sister dressed him up in crazy costumes, something I also subjected my younger brother to. lol
