My day was made today when I bought Empire and discovered that they had a Goonies reunion special. GOONIES OMG! ALL GROWED UP!!!!!! And apparently 10 years on from the DVD commentary (how can that even be possible?!)

So far I find myself almost only nominating Dollhouse and Pushing Daisies. What are you guys nominating? Help me out!

Vote for Miracle as breakout star. How can Yvonne Strahovski be the breakout star when she was on Chuck last year?!

Anyone want some DR. HORRIBLE CAKE? YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT!

Star Trek lulz: All your base are belong to Nero.

I've been telling my friends about this a lot and none of them knew about it, so George Takei takes on homophobia. That basketballer video!

Apparently PSYCH IS GOING TO COMIC CON! for those interested.

New HBP promo: importance of the trio according to the writing of Steve Kloves, Y/Y?

How About An Animated Movie With A Female Lead Who Isn't A Princess? Hell, I'd settle for nearly any blockbuster with a female lead, at this point. But anyway, YES.

Obama declares June LGBT Pride month. I knew there was a reason I liked him.

Pretty Lost icons.

don't ask me, I'm nominating BSG almost everywhere. Also: Dollhouse, Lost, Chuck, Pushing Daisies and The Big Bang Theory. For the positive categories I mean of course. I wish there were more actor/actress categories though and that they'd be separated by lead/supporting and drama/comedy like the Emmys.

I don't get why Yvonne is in that category either. also, Kevin McKidd??? Seriously? What about ROME??? And Journeyman that I've never watched? And even Trainspotting! How is he "new"?

I'm glad Adam Scott is nominated though, I love Party Down. And it's funny because his character is an actor who's famous because if this one commercial.

It's weird how I didn't think anyone from Dollhouse was really attractive (well except for the ones I knew, duh) before seeing the show, based on the promo pics... and now I think they're so pretty ^^ I blame bad photoshop skills at FOX.

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Nooo tell me! I got through the actors OK but I need ideas for the rest. It's like everything hs leaked out of my brain.

I think Adam Scott is cool, but Party Down is a bit awkward for my taste.

Yeah, but keep in mind people aren't usually that attractive just in pictures. You've got to see them in action to appreciate them.

From: [identity profile] hobbitofkobol.livejournal.com

for the polls what I did when I was out of ideas was read the answers of everyone else lol

just looking at the categories you haven't filled yet and omg I can't believe you didn't vote for Dom on Chuck as best Guest Star!

there's one I'd love to see my pick win, it's the music-related moment. I chose Starbuck playing the piano.

an easy one for me was worst special effect... the Dharma submarine was ridiculous

for best season I picked Chuck...

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

I didn't think of him! I didn't even think of Chuck. I told you I needed ideas!

There are MUCH worse special effects on Pushing Daisies, but I don't know if the episodes have aired yet.

I don't think I would pick Chuck because I got a bit bored in the middle before it picked up with the spy-daddy stuff towards the end of the season. Also, I found myself skipping the Buy More scenes.

From: [identity profile] hobbitofkobol.livejournal.com

tbh not many shows impressed me this season, or at least not the WHOLE season... I'm trying to make my own Emmy dream ballot but I can't even come up with noms in some categories! (especially drama)

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

I really liked Lost this season. And Pushing Daisies! But I can't nominate Pushing Daisies for everything. *ponders* Although for consistency, I probably would go with Pushing Daisies. I think season 2 was even better than season 1.

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Also, one episode of Middleman aired in September and I'm totally tempted to nominate it for something.

From: [identity profile] hobbitofkobol.livejournal.com

I almost nominated it for show that I'd like to bring back... maybe you can find sth for "one-liner" or "funniest moment"?

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

The hair one is baffling me. Clearly I need to pay more attention to people's hair.

From: [identity profile] hobbitofkobol.livejournal.com

lol me too! I do like crazy hair (see icon) but I couldn't think of anything specific so I looked at what other people answered... and of course now I just remembered Faraday's terrible flashback hair lol
also for best hair now I'm thinking of Joan on Mad Men!

YAY PRETTY PICTURES AND CHRIS GIFS.

AND HOO-FUCKING-RAY FOR MY PRESIDENT. DAMN, BUT I LOVE THAT MAN.

I am equally confounded by the "breakout" star category.

Heeeee, Psych!

Obama is the best ever. BEST EVER. Did you hear - probably not, because it just happened and you're probably asleep - that New Hampshire's House approved the Gay Marriage Bill and the governor plans on signing it through? This is awesome. One by one the states are falling in line. Then they'll need to have a constitutional ruling that MARRIAGE IS LEGAL EQUALLY FOR ALL PEOPLE. Hopefully this will happen soon.

WTF, Steve Kloves? I wish I could be like my roommate and just not watch the movies at all. It's so frustrating that he CLEARLY DOESN'T READ THE BOOKS.

You are obsessed with Birdhouse in Your Soul, aren't you? LOL.

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Oh yay! I wish exciting things were happening here as well - we got the civil unions bill but no marriages. There probably won't be any action on that front for a long time, and that's very sad.

The thing is, OotP and PoA aren't bad, and that keeps building my hopes up. And how can I not watch? I love the cast (mostly) so much, and everything looks so good. It's just so frustrating that they're badly written (and sometimes, but not always, badly directed). Of course, OotP is the exception to the badly written rule.

YES I AM. DO YOU HAVE IT? IT IS HERE (http://www.sendspace.com/file/keg2xt). If I'm not listening to it, I'm humming it.

From: [identity profile] truffle-shuffle.livejournal.com

It's a long, long road, but each little step is at least a step, you know?

I'm too tired to get into the HP movie stuff. There's exceptions - POA especially - but mostly I think they either change things unnecessarily or they get characters wrong or they add things that don't need to be added while leaving out things that should definitely be in there. I just need to find a way to watch the movies without comparing them to the books, basically. They'll never get them as right as they should be. POA excepted.

I have that song. I love They Might Be Giants. I saw them play a club...God, like ten years ago. (OMG, I feel so old!) I remember that I was deathly ill but I would not miss the show. And as a result, I was sort of delirious during it, but that might have worked in their favor since they're such a quirky band.

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

They're nothing compared to the books. Nothing! But at least Ron wasn't written as a total buffoon in OotP. He was in PoA, a bit, but Alfonso Cuaron did such a good job that it doesn't bother me as much.

I like having the visuals to help me when I'm reading.

No, that's the Kristin Chenoweth & Ellen Greene version! The one I've been listening to! I don't know much about They Might Be Giants.

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

I have the original. I asked for it in a post the other day and someone was kind enough to upload it for me. Being me, and a dork, I like it less.

From: [identity profile] roadtriphome.livejournal.com

*points at lyrics* They Might Be Giants! And my favorite of their songs, next to "End of the Tour", nonetheless.

I would like to see a version of every movie with a male lead switched to have a female lead. Just to see how the movie might change. *firm nod* Ooo, then I bet the same could be said about female lead movies. Could you imagine a female lead romantic comedy switching over to a male lead one without changing much except for a few situations? Wow, that's a writing challenge waiting to happen. *things* Summer fandom project!

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Actually, Kristin Chenoweth and Ellen Greene, from the Pushing Daisies soundtrack. Someone was kind enough to upload the original for me but I don't like it as much. I'm obsessed with the Pushing Daisies version, I've listened to it 25 times in three days.

ME TOO. I'm obsessed with the gender-switched Star Trek (have you seen that post?) There's a movie coming out wherein Angelina Jolie took over the lead role from a man, so that sounds cool...

From: [identity profile] roadtriphome.livejournal.com

Wow they covered it? I'd... actually like to hear that. *lol*

No I haven't seen that post!

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Yeah, so I was like "I'll just click the 'star trek' tag to make it easier for me to search!" but pretty much every post in the last couple of weeks has some kind of star trek proponent. ANYWAY. Here's the post (http://liviapenn.livejournal.com/555204.html), here's the song (http://www.sendspace.com/file/keg2xt).
