I'm reading the poll results in the LJ TV poll and there's a lot of Pushing Daisies as worst finale, along with complaints that they just chopped it off. Hey, wanna know why? IT WAS CANCELLED MID-SEASON. They had to awkwardly rework a normal episode into a finale halfway through to give us any closure at all. So fuck off. (Although fortunately there's a lot of noms for it in the best finale poll too.) Also, I need to see Glee. I finally finished filling it out, fyi.

I'm sure you've all seen this before, as it's a few years old, but a MST3K of an alternate version of Half-Blood Prince written by a delusional Harmoanian. Note: not a regular person who happens to ship Harry/Hermione, someone who honestly thinks JKR was wrong when she wrote Ron/Hermione. IT IS HILARIOUS.

Awesome Star Trek merchandise abounds. Seriously, that perfume/cologne merch is FABULOUS. PON FARR! TIBERIUS! RED SHIRT! Also, parody that's less parody and more accurate summary. Never go in against a Vulcan when kink is on the line.

Supernatural may go on without Kripke because Dawn Ostroff may override and call for a sixth season even if nobody wants one. I like shows that have a definite end date in sight - as we know from Lost, it makes for damn good TV - but at the same time, and in this case, I kind of think Kripke's a moron anyway, and without him the show might be vastly improved.

I think the way fans have lionised Kripke in the same way as Joss Whedon is built on a false idea of the man. I don't think he really has a good grasp on character, based on early interviews and some of the paths he's taken the boys down, and I think that without his superb writing team he would have a lot of trouble with this show.

That's just my opinion, of course.

Of course the writers are absolutely brilliant. No question about it. But I see it as a team: if you get rid of the captain, it falls apart, at least for a while before finding a new one. And I don't want Spn to fall apart, even for a week or 2.
I just want the show to leave with a bang. If Kripke had 5 years in mind at the beginnng, which apparently he had, it shouldn't go further. I wouldn't want the show to end up like The X-Files, something that nobody watches anymore, and that was renewed only for money reasons.

Yeah, I'd rather the show have an end date, like I said in the post. But I'd also like to see the show live up to its full potential, which I rarely get with this one, and that upsets me. I feel like it could be more.
