Reasons Star Trek is ruining my life:

1. Whenever someone writes 'relevant to my interests', I read it as 'relewant'.
2. Giving myself away a bit here, but I have about 30 st_xi_kink tabs open, and Star Trek fandom don't take no haters.
3. When I take my mother to see it tonight, for the fifth time, I will have spent $60 going to see Star Trek.
4. ontd_startrek is like air.
5. I have about a hundred gifs and macros from Star Trek. That's more than I have normal pictures from the movie.
6. I feel compelled to go rent all of the old movies. And maybe even the TOS.
7. An entirely new language has entered my lexicon. It is full of Pinto and swearing and GQMFs, BAMFs, fierce bitches, and other assorted MFs.
8. I actually know a whole bunch of Vulcan words.
9. My heart grew three sizes when I saw this video of old men being friends. (And I think it's almost better with lens flares).
10. Chris Pine made me watch 'Surrender, Dorothy'.
11. I'm getting to the point where I think every single cast member is really hot.
12. As you are probably already aware, Star Trek is taking over not only my LiveJournal, but also my icons.
13. I have returned from the movie. We talked. I said lines. We Vulcan-saluted the screen and played pretend drinking games and quoted macros and made dirty jokes.
14. I get excited when I see lens flares.
15. Odd numbers.

Tonight, baldie_troll & I came up with the theory that the reason red shirts always die is that the shirts are, in fact, sentient and homicidal.

Your list is almost identical to my list. Except I've only spent $25 to see it six times, because one time was free and the theatre I go to only charges $5 a movie for students. :D

OMG Chris Pine and ZQ were IN MY DREAM last night. Not in a sexy way, but I was putting in some spadework on Captain Fine when Laurin woke me up because I'd forgotten to set my alarm. d'oh!

Is there such a thing as an official new-school Trekkie? Because the old-school stuff is more something to pass the time until I get more new-school stuff and fill that aching Trek void. Sometimes I like to imagine the old-school stuff with the new-school actors. (The old ones are cool, but they don't inspire in me the same fannish glee.)
