I love Firefly so much. I can't figure out how Zoe isn't everyone's favourite.
"Take me, sir. Take me hard."
Also, observation about Trash: It's pretty much an episode where all the action is run by girls. The villain's a girl, and the girls save the day. Love. Also, YoSaffBridge is awesome.

I don't have a favourite when it comes to Firefly, mostly I'm in love with every character for different reasons.

I really need to do a rewatch of Firefly, but I've been saying that about several of my shows so who knows when I'll actually get around to doing it.

Maybe it's because she never had the chance for a significant story arc? Her character is so steady & consistent that you don't have any moments of growth to really identify with or admire or whatever. In the series itself, I think her biggest emotional arc is in Our Mrs. Reynolds ("Wife soup!"). Even in War Stories, when the two most important people in her life are being held hostage & tortured, she does exactly what we expect her to do: stay calm & save the day.
In Serenity, the Big Thing that happens doesn't come until the end of the movie, so you don't really get to see much of how Zoe deals with that. (Though I will say that I almost never cry at movies, and I was fine watching Serenity... right up until "She's tore up plenty, but she'll fly true.")
And I agree about Trash! That's why I snatched up this icon when I saw it: I was totally excited to see action!Kaylee.

I like that Zoe is stoic and has the ability to always stay calm & save the day, with a wry one-liner. I like that we can see that she feels it all but she doesn't let it control her. I LOVE in 'War Stories' when she just chooses Wash before Nisska even finishes his sentence. She's such a strong, unusual female character, and I love her.
